Pino Lella wants nothing to do with the war or the Nazis. He's a normal Italian teenager - obsessed with music, food, and girls - but his days of innocence are numbered. When his family home in Milan is destroyed by Allied bombs, Pino joins an underground railroad helping Jews escape over the Alps, and falls for Anna, a beautiful widow six years his senior. Up there with Leon Uris' TRINITY for a compelling personal recounting of historical events largely overshadowed by other events or overlooked by history's authors.

Fun story
Revisado: 05-28-17
This story was a fun listen. the narrator could be good , end does a pretty good job with voices. But he frequently mispronounces words and i nfortunately reads a bit too fast, missing punctuation andthereby causing confusion with his improper phrasing.

Historia
Miller is the last Englishman. It's not a title he enjoys because it means that whenever the looters and the treasure hunters come across the Atlantic to the ruins of his country, it's his job to hunt them down. That is, if the packs of wild dogs don't kill them first. Or the collapsing buildings. Or the disease. Miller soon finds himself helping a former US Ranger, Claudia Riley, hunt for her missing nephew who's disappeared somewhere in England.

Great new approach to "post apocalyptic" world
Revisado: 05-25-17
I quite enjoyed this story, the concept, and the writing itself. It is just unfortunate that the protagonist is a 30-ish man and the narrator, however talented, sounds like a 10-year-old boy at best or perhaps a 14 year old girl. I do wish she had made an effort to lower her voice an octave when speaking for the protagonist in the first person.

okay but not exceptional.
Revisado: 05-11-17
the way I enjoyed the story, I occasionally found it a little hard to follow. II attribute that to both the writing style and the narrator's delivery. I think the style a little bit immature , but the narrator also seems seems to bridge things together that should not be bridged.
By the way, I simply could not envision a "prostate position."

Luke Stone hits the spot
Revisado: 05-10-17
I quite enjoyed this Luke Stone story, as always. I do wish editors would enforce proper use of tenses (e.g., dive...). The reader's style gets some what monotonous, and his dialogue sometimes runs togethet, but I would have given him 4 or 5 stars if he knew how to pronounce "noo.clee.ur".

A very thouhgtful story of first contact anf the challenges of anthropologic differences. Narrator needs maturity and better vocabulary for improved emotion and correction of many disturbing mispronunciations.

good story, better for more youthful readers
Revisado: 04-27-17
I enjoyed this story. The author pretty well nailed it if I remember being the age of the protagonist. The narrator did a good job but struggles with accents and a couple of mispronunciations. Somewhat immature in emphasis with phrasing rising at the end like questions and contractions childishly pronounced ("nent" instead of "dent") in shouldn't wouldn't couldn't, etcetera.

Historia
From the author of the international best seller The Stone Man, short-listed for Audible UK's Book of the Year Award 2015. Here are the rules. Method: you can't use a gun. You can't use explosives. You can't use poison. It has to be up close and personal. You don't have to worry about leaving evidence; that will be taken care of. Victim: no one suicidal. No one over the age of 65. No one with a terminal illness. Choose your method. Choose your victim.

this was it entirely different type of suspense novel, with the perfect narration. I've been getting a little tired of the same old crime, detective, and suspense novels, haven't you?
