First book I've given 5 stars. If you heard WWII stories from your father or grandfather you will love this story. Forrest Gump meets HBO's The Pacific.

The characters feel real and you appreciate the contemporary setting. Sometimes these stories feel farfetched to the point you are pulled out of the story. However, in 14 the progression feels natural and character's reactions to extraordinary events are genuine.
