Red River Romps - Book 1

This is book 1 in James' Red River Romps series and is a great intro to a new series. Our book focus on main characters Ryder and Annabelle. A marriage of convenience storyline. I really enjoyed the dual narration and the southern accent by Green was great to hear for Annabelle's character, it was just so fitting. I loved how quickly these two became smitten with each other and Ryder's family is amazing as is Annabelle's support team. Our villain happens to be non-other than Annabelle's misogynistic father and while we don't see what ends up happening to him one would like to think he withers away in loneliness after alienating everyone around him. I'm definitely looking forward to more from James and this series as I found it to be both sweet and steamy with wonderful family ties and a great HEA!

Book 2 - The Richmond Brothers

This is book 2 in Jacobs' The Richmond Brothers series and can be read / listened to as a standalone. Dual narration was very well done, and the overall storyline was good if a bit over the top - but that's what I kinda love about these books. Our main characters are Daisy and Aaron. The whole book is a series of mis understandings and mis communications but also delivers the best steamy scenes, good character growth and humor. Aaron was a tragic character who overcame his start in life to become successful and let's face it feared in his own right. I absolutely abhor his family. Daisy had a relatively normal if somewhat privileged upbringing and her family is supportive in the most humorous of ways. A great read / listen that I'm super excited for more of!

Book 3 - Love and Whiskey

This is book 3 in Nikki Ash's Love and Whiskey series and while a wonderful addition to the series can be read / listened as a standalone. First, I loved the dual narration which was perfection in bringing main characters Nate and Paige to life. I loved their love story. Nate fell instantly for Paige but Paige - well, she took more than a hot minute to figure her feelings out. The steamy chemistry was there from the very beginning, but it was everything else that took a while. Nate was devoted to her and tried desperately to respect her wishes but his love for her was all consuming. Paige was determined to put herself first but at the cost of withholding what she really wanted for herself. It was difficult to hear time and time again how the people in her life didn't put her first only to see that she wasn't really putting her own wants first either. I also loved Nate for calling her out on making decisions for him, which was some tough love I know she needed. Glad she was able to take the blinders off and see how loved she already was and able to allow herself the HEA we as readers were all hoping for! A great romance with a smooth flowing storyline and captivating characters. I can't wait for more from Ash!

Book 8 - Italian Stallions - can be standalone

This is book 8 in Carr's Italian Stallions series and another great addition to the series. Can definitely be read / listened to as a standalone. This menage romance is great. I love that Carr delivers a captivating storyline and makes the characters come thru as relatable, both in their earnest to be an a committed manage relationship as well as those who are more reluctant and the seamless way, they are able to come together for a HEA. Our main characters here are friends and co-workers Joey and Miles who meet Lucy during one of their assignments. It's love at first site for Joey and Miles is guarding his heart after a difficult relationship. Lucy has her own struggles with finding her place, with her family and in the world. Again, I thought the storyline was smooth flowing and captivating and the narration was perfection and brought these characters to life. A great read / listen and I can't wait for more sweet and steamy romance from Carr!

Book 1 - Pack Mystic

This is book 1 in Woods' new series Pack Mystic. An Omega verse romance that while that is not generally my go to, this book was certainly captivating both with its main characters and storyline. The dual narration did wonders to bring all the characters to life. A why choose, reverse harem type romance read that covers a lot of steamy ground and add to that some hockey?!? yes and please! Tori is the media manager for the New Orleans Mystics and loves her job, but changes are brewing for her and the team. Spencer, Oliver, and Elijah join the Mystics and these three are roommates and more. Great chemistry on and off the ice and then add to that a new coach in Logan. A great read that has all the sweet and spice as well as a bit of a cliffhanger that will have you excited (like me) for more!

Book 5 - Nashville Devils

This is book 5 in Ivers' Nashville Devils series and a wonderful addition to the series. While this can be read as a standalone, I love that we have some repeat characters. I adore our main characters Riley and Max. Riley is a protective single mom, and Max is a grumpy owner of the NHL Devils team. In this second chance romance read / listen lies and deception are revealed, and past hurts are soothed and healed. I love the support and comradery of our secondary characters - friends and family of these two - which brings not only an emotional healing but also some humor as well. The dual narration was wonderfully done and Ivers delivers a well-balanced storyline with emotion, sweet romance, steamy chemistry, humor and so much more. I loved it and can't wait to see what's next from Ivers!

Book 5 - Fighting Series

This is book 5 in Ash's Fighting Series and is a holiday novella. Short, sweet, spicy. Ash delivers a well written and wonderfully narrated update on the couples / families from the previous reads in this series with this fifth book. I love how the families come together and share a bit of their love and holiday mishaps and chaos that arises with families, especially when you have multiple families and friends. I loved catching up with each couple and their kids and gets me excited for what's to come in a new generation of fighters. I love that we get each couple's point of view and I love all the sweet romance, the sizzling chemistry and a few laughs as well. Oh, and don't forget the feels too - this book has moments that are so tender and heartwarming it will bring tears to your eyes. A great addition but it has me excited for more from this series and from Ash!

Book 2

So, I normally don't do same sex romance reads but I loved the idea of a nerd who looks like a jock and tries to be all things to all people with a secret. While this was well narrated, for me I think it just came thru a bit too repetitive. Also, the forbidden aspect came thru as been there, done that didn't feel original in the least. There were also some cringey moments that just really made this audio experience less than ideal. Overall, I think the concept was there and obviously several people enjoyed it, I sadly wasn't one of them on this read / listen.

Book 2 - Keeping What's Mine

This is book 2 in Snyder's Keeping What's Mine and a good addition to this series. While this can be read / listened to as a standalone, I found it better after listening to book 1 "Keeping My Bride". A dark and captivating mafia romance read that is sure to please in the dark, danger as well as the steam and romance elements. I adored out main characters Nico and Selina. These two have been in love since they were teens and one day Selina was just gone. Nico never stopped looking for her and never dreamed the reality of what happened to her. A beautiful story full of emotion and healing. Great twists and loved the banter. A great mafia read and addition to this series...definitely looking forward to more!

Book 3 - The Satan's Knights MC North Carolina

This is book 3 in Bosco's The Satan's Knights MC North Carolina series and can be read / listened as a standalone, is all the better when included as part of this series. Our main characters are Shady and Bianca. If you've been tuned into the series thus far you may remember Bianca from previous book and her tie to Ghost. This book delivers so many hits to both of these characters that I just didn't see a way for either of them, much less together being able to survive but Bosco delivers a twisted and deeply emotional journey of healing in this read/listen. The dual narration delivered by Johnson and Puckett was wonderfully done. I love how Shady finds or better realizes his place with his brother and Bianca is able to forgive herself and live again. Well written, smooth flowing and captivating with secondary ongoing storylines that have me eager for more!
