Hey, book lovers! So, I just wrapped up The Singer Sisters by Sarah Seltzer, and I’ve got some thoughts to share! 📚✨ This novel revolves around the complex lives of three sisters as they navigate family dynamics, secrets, and their own individual paths. It’s a heartfelt story that definitely explores some heavy themes, which I appreciated.

However, I did struggle a bit with the time shifts. The constant jumping between past and present, along with different points of view, made it a little confusing at times. I found myself wishing for smoother transitions because I wanted to stay fully engaged with the characters’ journeys without getting lost in the timeline. It’s like trying to piece together a puzzle, and while I love a good mystery, this one left me a bit tangled.

That said, Seltzer’s writing is beautiful and evocative, and there are moments that truly shine. I loved the exploration of sisterhood and how their relationships evolve over time. It’s definitely worth a read if you enjoy family dramas that dig deep into emotional territory!

What an absolutely thrilling story of fraternal twins living out the others birthday wishes. The flow of poetry to entertain the youngest minds but the beauty to conquer the busy minds of adults.

Umm… what to say…. I love full cast audiobooks but clearly this duo was not working. It can be told that they didn’t read together because our female’s voice fluctuates, has volume, control and feeling. And our male’s voice sounds like a very updated Alexa or Sir. He’s very monotoned, robotic and god awful. Sadly it destroys the story.

The plot is exactly what’s you expect from a smut book. Unexplainable love I treat, aggressive male, female now unpowered because she’s getting laid and can’t see how amazing she but now she can conquer the world and face everything thrown at her except for the love of this unwitting man who she almost let’s go but at the last minute it all makes sense. And they live happily ever after.

The best thing about this was Lucifer. What happened JLA, what happened? I’m very disappointed by this ending.

This wasn’t the story I had expected but it was well perceived. With a touch of romance thrown into a situation that is all too real for many high school students, Gabriela crafted a somewhat alternative to “13 Reason Why” by Jay Asher. There was also a hint of “Mean Girls” by Micol Ostow tossed around in there. At least that is what I made of it.

While the events that unfolded where realistic, they where handle in a manner that was at best softly put. With just enough information to gather what happened without going into details of the events that plague the story. Which I found to be rather refreshing. It left just enough to make you hope for the best but expect the worst.

The metamorphosis of Dimah “Em” Emerson, was beautifully crafted. The way she changed throughout the nightmare she lived. The growth she had with the gentle nudge of Aron was endearing. Aron added the perfect umph to the story. Not being overbearing while also not standing on the sideline.

This is a heartbreaking story, that will leave you with questions of the roles of society from the jocks, the mean girls, school officials and friends. It hits on some petty hard subjects so brace yourself for this. Because while the outcome is uplifting it could have easily turned the other way.

This is my second time experiencing Not The End, but my first time listening to in audio format. And what can say it brought the story more alive for me. In fact I’ll be going back and raising my rating from 4 stars to 5, because I noticed so much more then I hadn’t before.

It’s a remarkable pieces.

I loved the story and the growing friends to more plot line. The realistic conviction of the characters. But if I’m being 100% the narration didn’t do it the justice it deserved. I found it to be very monotone. During the dialogue scenes it made it hard to track who was speaking because the voices didn’t differentiate enough.

The story itself is well developed. The growth of our young cast struggling with the thought of a best friend as more was amazingly captured. The doubt that crept into their mind, the strain of being pitted against each other for a job and the conflict of double dating was easily visualized.

I had first read this book a year ago and I rated it five stars then and I was honestly worried about its translation into an audiobook because the narration is so vital for its success. Consider this a success. The character came even more alive than before. The feelings could be felt through the multiple voices voices by one person.

She delivered a story with truth, honesty and the reality that is now, then and the future. What I wasn’t prepared for was the depth in which I journeyed too. I expected a story of what had happened and why it happened. Bada bing Bada Boom. This was not that.

Wolfe opened up to a world of many different healings. I was left with the feeling of wanting to pick up the phone and call my best friend and remind her how important she is to me.

Kayla’s death was sudden. While we faced her death and were left with the open question of why, we saw the aftermath. The lives of those Kayla had left behind. The aftermath of how coping isn’t the same for everyone. How people can be cruel, they can be kind and they can be broken.

We follow Kayla’s best friends Cassidy and Sarah, Paul the boyfriend, Mia the younger sister and Danny the house it happened at, the closest. But neatly tucked away you a get a glimpse of the soccer team, her parents, other kids parents, coaches and school officials. A lot happens within That Night besides the main premise of the novel.

It’s a very complex story but it the most positive way. I think that because of how real the situation is, the complexity is all to understanding.
