I had many ideas running through my head for most of the story as to how it would all turn out, but didn’t see this coming. The honesty, the reverence, the naivety, the simplicity. Great story! Nicely written and well narrated.

Seriously the best book I have ever read

This book is exactly what the summary and the many glowing reviews have already said. For those who have experienced anything close to any of the situations in this book, I think it is safe to say that we know well how deeply profound this book hits the heart. It is such an emotionally bound story. And further, it brings a new awareness to my understanding of Afghanistan. I would listen to this narrator a thousand times over. Thank you Mr. Hosseini

Another white lady does great to a black boy story

I’m not sure where to start… The narrator was a typical, old, white lady. I wish they could’ve chosen someone who you couldn’t tell what ethnicity they were by the voice.
Next, I wish the story was not about another white lady doing great things for a black boy. The entire story resonated with he didn’t know any of this stuff until she came along. I’m not sure if this story was about the horrible past of the boy, how great the white lady was, or about their relationship. Maybe all three of those things but I’m my opinion, it sure seemed to boost her more than anyone. Uggg, I just can’t with this book! Sooo condescending and self righteous! Such a self-centered, look what I did book. Not a fan at all.

Girl loses guy.
Sadness looms.
A different girl gets and keeps guys.
And the narrator was a heavy breather.

Beautiful story, beautifully read

This was genuinely a beautiful story, and the author/narrator did not fail one slight bit in her narration and essence of the Italian language! The heartbreak, the recounting of family, the cuisine, it was all just such a beautiful story! My only slightly negative comment was that she was a bit overdramatic at times. Otherwise, I now have a new bucket list place to travel to.

Loved Marsh Girl!

This story was a little slow at first and then turned into some serious intrigue and massive development of characters and storyline! I loved it, and especially loved the ending!

How is this not a movie yet!? Also I suppose that Buba had already passed and therefore was not available to confirm the allegations made by Raymond? Really, truly, unbelievable story! I really enjoyed it

Interesting, intriguing, and captivating

I’m so surprised at how much I realllly liked this production. I learned a lot about chilies, of course, but I love that I learned so much more about the psychology of food, addiction, pain, and pleasure. This was such a great story!
