enjoyable lights mystery

Honestly enjoyed the story. I am at a point where I have consumed so much of one genre that I need to switch it up, but this story had pull, while not jaw dropping, was decently developed and a good story. The weaved web was a bit far fetched, but still enjoyable.

the MC is helpless, confused, and inconsistent. Also the very last line of the book kind of pissed me off. she gives " if you stand for nothing you will fall for anything vibes"

I listen to a lot of mystery ans thriller, this story had so much potential, like I could see a trilogy hunger games style if it was developed better. the mystery and storyline was compelling, but the mc has no ... nothing. She is an npc living the worst story line. The twist makes little sense, and the ending seems rushed.

it's like ... it's like I listen to most of a book and then it ended and I have questions but only need like 50 more pages to answer them, and the story wasn't developed well enough to be a series, but that can't just be the end, right?

I go through a lot of books and will admit, my standards aren't super high. entertain me and I'm happy enough but this book... nothing really happens and while the how could have been an interesting twist the, the who was a no duh.

bit of a waste for me and I run through multiple books a week, so it isn't even that big of a time investment for me

I have been on the rom trope lately. bad boy. unexpected girl. life hurtle to overcome to secure happily ever after.

I have listened to like all of this authors books and this one was super cute and honestly a great listen ... until it should have ended and then went on for 6 more hours, more than half of which was just very descriptive sex scenes, that honestly are a little repetitive and then weird interrupts to the story line, and too much talk from the best friend about how she is having so much sex.

I have never stopped an audiobook early, and this finally got me there. pun intended.

I listen to the podcast. I even like the podcast, but this book was a way too long, oddly detailed for no real good reason in the wrong places, with so much going on for no real reason. The writing was ... young, at best. the ending was terrible, the Jonbenet connection was obvious, and honestly a bit tacky.

anyway. woof. I wish I could unlisted.

I loved the other books in the series and I loved the narration of the books. Very direct manor of writing, and well established and developed characters that remain consistent, I just COULD NOT get passed the voice of the narration.

The first is better than the rest.

I loved this first in this series and completed the following because I wanted to know the story. I love the narration and the complex characters built in the first book. The one aspect of this book that I feel I was desperately missing was a outline, or introduction, or something to the world in which they were living in. Even after completing the entire series I don't feel I have any understanding of the realm, the land, the community, the backstory, any of it. It is as though I missed the first 20 minutes of a movie.
