This was both surprising and entertaining. Well read and so looking forward to reading the next book in the series. Yes, there’s a cliffhanger, so that’ll have you wanting more. This is the 3rd book I’ve listened to from this author.

Great backstory!

This was a really good twist on the Arabian night story. It gave me beauty and the beast vibes. Definitely love story with a twist. I look forward to reading the follow up book.

Intense, heartfelt, and good closure

Wasn’t sure where this book was going, but after The Kite Runner, figured I wouldn’t be disappointed. I wasn’t. It was a well written history of a country I only read about in the news, and the story of two women who became each other’s family. Really enjoyed this one.

Better than an interview

I was not sure what to expect and was not disappointed. Lots of real life experience with managing a mental illness and getting through life as a public figure. It sound honest and there was moments that made one stop and think, smile, and want to cheer her on. A good listen.

Motivation to keep going

I already listen to Ruth’s Podcast and my expectations where hi. I wasn’t disappointed. There are many gold nuggets in this audiobook on moving pass adversity. There are self challenges and information on checking in with yourself. There’s a check list, examples from her life and that of others. Well worth reading and a tool for building your own brand of confidence.

Once a Year Read

If you're new to self-help and want a good book to start with, "She's Still There" is a great book to start with. To the point and open, Hurst tells her story as an example with valuable lessons as she goes. I actually listened to this twice to make sure I got everything that was said. What I got out of it was going after that dream of living your best life, I mean like for real! Along with it's okay to make mistakes and yes, negative things will happen, you will make mistakes, but you just need to keep one foot in front of the other. Eventually, you'll arrive at the place you want to be, or very close to it.
