Historia
Dale Maharidge’s father, like many World War II veterans, never talked about “the good war”. There was just one clue to his dad’s experience as a US Marine - a portrait with a close friend that hung permanently in their home. In The Dead Drink First, Dale, now a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, recounts his 18-year quest to find and repatriate the missing remains of his dad’s buddy, Herman Walter Mulligan, 73 years after he was killed in action.

Very cool Story..
Revisado: 08-20-19
This story really hit home for me. I grew up with a WW2 veteran who was an abusive hardcore alcoholic. He was a B-17 Bomber gunner and pissed off at the world. as a 9 to 14 year old kid I didn't understand and was terrified of him and his drunken rampages...Anyway, I found this to be a wonderful story overall and without giving away any spoilers, was happy to see the author find his dad's friend.

Historia
In The Apocalypse, the great majority of the men and women who fought with honor - with a sense of duty and loyalty - gave their lives for others, leaving those without honor to flourish and rule. Their rule is not marked by decency or civility, but by wicked brutality. Yet, in some very rare cases, the kind and the noble survived. These hardened survivors learned to live among the undead, but now they must learn how to stay alive among creatures that are far more monstrous: their fellow man.

Not bad..Not as good as the first, however I really liked Jilly Bean and Ipes. I think I'm gonna give volume 3 a try at some point, since it seemed to get better reviews and has some new characters. Ram will definitely be missed.

interesting story
Revisado: 07-31-19
I think this story would of been much more enjoyable for me had I actually read it instead of listening to the audiobook. Some of the hypnosis sessions were absolutely painful to listen to. The narrator kept repeating the name of the person speaking and then whatever his line was but the parts that were redacted he would literally say "redacted" ..this went on and on and on. When reading you don't notice these things as much or the "he said-she said" every few sentences can become annoying during audiobooks as well...Anyhow,overall,I enjoyed this story and found it to be quite interesting and well documented. There was a lot of information I was never familiar with. 3.5 of 5 stars.

Historia
I didn't believe in time travel or teleportation until it happened to me. I'm Bruce Gernon, and I flew through the heart of the Bermuda Triangle before I'd even heard the term. Skeptics have dismissed the Triangle as a nonmystery, but they weren't in my airplane when the fog surrounded my craft and I leapt ahead 100 miles. I documented what happened and memorized every detail of that flight. Now, I'm ready to explain that there is no Bermuda Triangle!

fascinating stories
Revisado: 06-01-19
This book turned out to be better than I had initially expected. I figured it would mostly be about the author's experience flying thru the Bermuda triangle electric fog but turned out to be so much more than that. We get to hear second hand about other people's various experiences, Whether by ship or plane and some strange time distortions and time travel that defy our current understanding of the laws of physics. He also discusses Einstein's theory of relativity as well as wormholes, black holes, string theory, space travel and other dimensions, as well as reluctantly touches a bit on UFO's and how they are connected somehow. I especially liked the chapter on the "other Area 51" which is an under the ocean secret Navy base used for experimental technology, advanced weaponry, and top secret testing. I forget the name of the base, but had never even known it existed(perhaps because it's "secret"? Lol) and this is the only book in which I've heard it mentioned. There's also a part in the book that is taken from one of the late ,great, Stephen Hawking seminars in which he discusses our universe and our future, etc. Overall I am very pleased with this audiobook, a fascinating account of the Bermuda Triangle.

Say what?
Revisado: 07-07-18
Did anybody else notice the PDF mistakes,or am I losing my mind? The question asked does not match up with the answer given:
Question #1 from Passage #2:
1. Which team, Arizona or Carolina, has the best record in the NFL?
Answer given from answer key:
1. The Packers (answer should be Carolina. The Packers isn't even in the question!)
Here's the paragraph taken from passage article #2:
"The two teams were the clear heavyweights in not only
the NFC but also the league as a whole during the
2015 season, finishing with the two best records in the
NFL at 15-1 (Carolina) and 13-3 (Arizona)."
Hopefully that will get fixed soon.

Historia
Cannibal. Necrophiliac. Kidnapper. Killer. The stories of serial killers often begin with terrible upbringings and sad events of trauma, but not all have such unfortunate beginnings. Some simply develop their evil on their own and become tainted without anyone realizing it. Jeffrey Dahmer was a man described by his own father as the result of a child becoming lost in the maelstrom while nobody paid attention, a child who was strange and apathetic but whom nobody bothered to ask why.

A brief overview of Jeffrey Dahmer
Revisado: 01-13-18
I would have given a higher rating but due to some important details that were left out, I gave 4 out of 5 stars. Jeff's first murder as an adolescent committed in Ohio, of the teenage hitchhiker, "Hicks", this book claimed Jeff cut up and buried the body in his backyard to only exhume it many weeks later finally crushing the bones and then scattering them out in the woods behind his house. In other books and documentaries they said Jeff dismembered Hicks and put his body parts into a few large plastic leaf & lawn bags and drove them around one night in which he was pulled over by a police officer around 2 am and was asked what the bags in the back seat were for and had he been drinking and who's car was he driving. Jeff had said his parents were out of town, allowed him access to his mom's car on occasion, and that he was taking lawn clippings to the dump that was open 24 hours because he was having trouble sleeping and figured doing some work would help him get to sleep and that it was part of his chores that his parents would have expected to be done upon their return. He also said yes he had a couple of drinks and apologized. The officer, thought it was a bit strange, but since he was so close to his neighborhood told him to turn around and drive straight back home, amazingly enough letting him off with only a warning. The cop was a complete idiot in my opinion. Had he only checked inside one of those bags he would have prevented the beginning of 16 more unnecessary murders committed by Jeffrey 9 years later! Anyhow,Jeff returned home and buried the body parts under the crawlspace of his Ohio home where he grew up at. None of this was mentioned in this book. Another omitted part was when Jeff invited his first Milwaukee (I believe it was Milwaukee, when he was living with his grandmother) victim 9 years later into his hotel room where he strangled and then dismembered him,cut up all his limbs, torso, and head & stuffed them all into a large suitcase and walked out through the front hotel lobby! If I remember correctly, that particular body was then buried at his grandmother's home..I think the head was left in the suitcase in his bedroom closet for some time too. Both these incidents are an important part of the story, as gruesome as they are, but unfortunately omitted from this book. One last thing that irked me a bit was the narrator's voice. It sounded almost robotic and without any emotion. I even started to doze off midway through for about 20 minutes while listening to this audiobook due to the incessant droning on and on . Because of that ,I admit it is possible I may have missed the part about the hotel incident while during the time he was going to live with his grandmother . But I am however positive nothing was mentioned about what I first wrote above with Jeff driving around with the bags in his car,etc...Overall this is a great ,quick hour & 42 min long overview of the life and heinous crimes of The Milwaukee Cannibal,Jeffrey Dahmer. If you know nothing about him and are interested in knowing the basics, then this is a good book to start with.
