I really wanted to enjoy this book, as I love the Lizzie Borden theme, but I just didn’t. The narrators weren’t bad, but their voices were so similar that it was a good thing that the chapters told you who was was who. Now, onto why I didn’t care for it.

The whole thing could have been avoided with some basic communication. I get it, Mom was mentally I’ll and couldn’t/wouldn’t talk to the girls, but Dad could have saved himself a lot of effort (and an axe to the head) if he had had them down and talked things over.
I didn’t hate the book, it just annoyed me.

I’m rarely surprised by “surprise” endings, but I didn’t see this one coming. This was a great story told from multiple points of view, and like I said, it will keep you guessing.

I give up, I'm going to just read the book

The narrator is so bad that I can't get past the first hour of the book to tell if I like the story or not. I should have listened to the sample, so that's on me, but my god, is the narration awful. I guess I'll just read the book to see if I like it.

A good urban fantasy with a bit of mystery

So glad I found this series!

I really enjoyed the first book of the series and just downloaded the second book. The story has a little twist on the standard paranormal story because not only are there werewolves and vampires, etc, the god of many pantheons live in Ordinary, Oregon.
The only minor issue I had with the book was the narrator's pronunciation of "Thanatos". She may have been using a lesser known, but perfectly acceptable version, but it still grated on my nerves a bit (not enough for me to knock a star off or anything).
Either way, it was a very enjoyable listen and I'm looking forward to learning more about the town and it's inhabitants.

I generally really like Sophie Kinsella, but I only made it halfway through this one. After listening for 6 hours, I couldn't waste anymore time waiting to see if it would turn around.
Fixie is a doormat that lets everyone walk all over her, her brother is an obnoxious jerk, and her sister is a self-absorbed flake.Ryan is the guy she's after (the one that got away), but frankly, I don't see why she'd want to have more than one conversation with him. Personally, I just wanted to punch him.
Maybe she gets her act together and finds her backbone, but there are so many other books waiting for me to listen, that I just don't really care to find out.
