Am so happy to discover this well-curated podcast. I wish I could recall the name of the producer/narrator; he has a pleasant voice and does a great job setting up the episodes with background lore and context. It has been a delight to accompany my spring gardening chores by listening via my phone to these carefully selected episodes.

It's also nice to be able to scroll the episodes for favoite stars like Joseph Cotten, Agnes Moorehead, Raymond Burr, etc., as well as to discover actors that were new to me but clearly contributed lots of talent to Suspense. I also love the old radio commercials for Roma Wines, Signal, etc., that are included in the podcasts.

Thank you so much for your efforts and expertise!

I recently started Sujata Massey's Rei Shimura series after listening to Widows of Malabar Hill and was sad to see only a couple of titles -- wonderful to see this third entry appear unexpectedly.

Dare we hope that they are going to produce the whole series on audiobook??? The narrator is great and distinguishes the characters' voices -- I tried reading a paperback of this book but it doesn't have the same impact as hearing the diction and accents she provides.

Looking forward (hopefully) to more Rei Shimura novels on Audible.

Interesting series -- why no more audiobooks?

This was an enjoyable entry in the series; the sequence of events is farfetched, as in the first book in the series, but nevertheless entertaining. Rei Shimura is an engaging character.

The narrator is absolutely excellent and does a great job distinguishing characters with her voice alone.

I was all set to order up the next several entries as audiobooks, only to find that none are available until Book 8. Why not? I ordered a used paperback of book 3 but prefer to listen while accomplishing other tasks.

What did you love best about The Reversal?

The combination of lead characters.

What other book might you compare The Reversal to and why?

Can't really think of one.

What didn’t you like about Peter Giles’s performance?

Where do I begin? This reader is just so wrong for the Bosch and Haller books. He sounds too young and nasal, puts the wrong inflection on words and phrases and doesn't pace himself well.
Worst of all is the Bosch voice -- Harry would be about 50 but he's being played as though he's a crusty old gaffer in his late 70s, in the gravelly, gruff voice of a mobster. So disconcerting. Another narrator did the same -- why? Aren't they informed of the characters' ages, etc. before beginning narration?

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No.

Any additional comments?

After enjoying several books with the immense talent of Dick Hill and Len Cariou, this is a real letdown.

What disappointed you about Easy Minimalist Living?

It's the same old tips that run in magazines like Woman's Day and Real Simple year after year -- "Handle paper once" "Put junk mail in the recycle bin right away" "If you haven't worn it in a year, get rid of it!" "Women's shelters will be happy to get your used clothing!" I expected something more novel and sophisticated.

The title wasn't really fulfilled -- I don't recall much in the way of a 30-day plan. The notion of "write a letter bidding farewell to your stuff" wasn't what I was looking for.

There was a seemingly interminable section where the author enumerated what she considered a core wardrobe -- three pairs of jeans, two white shirts, etc. -- again, I don't need wardrobe advice. Same with the office -- she's advising people to buy a laptop instead of a desktop and a printer/fax/copier combo -- and "spend a day cleaning up your computer files." Again, I was looking for more specifics -- suggestions for subcategories of folders, that sort of thing.

Very pedestrian tips (just go to the library and read some past issues of homemaking magazines) and the reader was awfully dry. The book could've benefitted from some editing, too, because there were a lot of cliches and trite phrases.

Sorry but it did not at all meet my expectation.

Has Easy Minimalist Living turned you off from other books in this genre?

Sort of.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Charlee Prescott?

Someone more animated, less pedantic.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Exasperation.
