J R King does it again. Another great book that kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it, and I thought Wizard of Skyhall was good! Like many other fans I am eagerly awaiting the release of the next book. I would recommend this book to anyone who would read it. Keep up the good work JRK!

Incredible book!

This book is fantastic and I have read it twice now. Once you start reading it, you cant stop until you reach the end. Then, when you finish it you have to read the sequel!
I would recommend it to anyone that likes adventure or fantasy novels. I think even people who arent ecstatic about these types of books would enjoy it. King did a wonderful job!

Spectacular continuation of the story

This second book brings everything together and clears up any questions from the previous book. Not only is it packed with adventure, action and mystery, it is among the best of the best in fantasy adventure. By the time I got to this book, I was completely swept away in the magical world Robert Stanek had created. His characters truly come to life and so does his magical world. Read the first one then this one and keep going because this is awesome.

Magical start to a great series

This first book is a good start to what becomes a magnificent series -- a series that ranks as among the best Ive heard from Audible. This wonderful story is engaging and thought provoking and something both adults and kids can enjoy. Robert Stanek creates a complex magical world that seems as real as our own. His characters and their relationships with one another are fascinating, and the narration is fantastic. My only disappointment is that this first book is very much like Harry Potter and the Sorcerer Stone in that it serves as an introduction to the larger world. So while this first book is good it is the others in the series that make it great. And the sequel series, In the Service of Dragons, is a must, as the series work together to create the whole.

Captivating and cleverly written

The Kingdoms and the Elves is a wonderful story, engaging and thought provoking, to say the least. As a story both adults and kids can enjoy, I think it's marvelous. I really enjoyed this book. More like a audio movie! I am hard to please and this is the first book I ever took the time to review. Stanek creates a complex magical world that is well thought-through, believable, touching, and ethical, without being heavy-handed. His characters and their relationships with one another are fascinating, and the reading is fantastic...now, all books in this series rank as among the best I've heard from Audible.
