Simply Incredible
Revisado: 08-09-17
Would you listen to Buried Memories again? Why?
Maybe. It is an incredible book and I cannot give enough credit to the strength of Katie Beer, who opened up for this book to be possible. The only reason I say maybe is because it is hard to listen to someone treating a child like that.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Buried Memories?
Discovering that there were tapes of her screaming for help
What does Allyson Ryan and Eileen Stevens bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
They bring the story to life. With the different voices you get a very special insight to how each woman was feeling during the time in the book.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes. I cried. A couple times actually. Just from how this child was treated. I think it brings a lot to light about that side of our society that no one likes to talk about.
Any additional comments?
She deserves to be heard. So much courage for one girl. She deserves the upmost respect and I suggest this to anyone who comes across.

Historia
Joseph Duncan had been convicted of raping and torturing a 14-year-old boy in Tacoma, WA. On the Internet he proudly boasted of his perversions. But the system turned Duncan loose, and no one would stop him from committing an even more horrifying act. This time he prepared meticulously. He chose his getaway car. He chose his murder weapon and loaded a video camera. Then, when he saw young Shasta and Dylan Groene playing outside their Idaho home, he struck - killing their mother and her boyfriend, and vanishing into the night with Shasta and Dylan.

Just facts. No story.
Revisado: 08-09-17
What would have made Stolen in the Night better?
If it was a story and not just a listing of facts.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Anything else.
Have you listened to any of J. Scott Bennett’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not. I did not think that the narrator was bad, just the story.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Stolen in the Night?
All of them and made it a story instead of a list of facts. It sounded far more like a high school report
Any additional comments?
I would not suggest. Although the truth of what happened to those children is incredibly sad and horrible, I do not think that this book did them any justice. It did not properly discuss the effects on the children. It Sounded more like a report than a book.

Historia
No one knows exactly when it began or where it originated. A terrifying new plague is spreading like wildfire across the country, striking cities one by one: Boston, Detroit, Seattle. The doctors call it Draco Incendia Trychophyton. To everyone else it's Dragonscale, a highly contagious, deadly spore that marks its hosts with beautiful black and gold marks across their bodies - before causing them to burst into flames. Millions are infected; blazes erupt everywhere. There is no antidote. No one is safe.

Who was the most memorable character of The Fireman and why?
Nick. He was such a strong boy who had a hard start already. I love how he attaches himself to Harper. Their relationship be beautiful and I adore his entire being.
Any additional comments?
No comments that would properly fit how incredible of a book this was. I thought that, with how long it was, that I would be bored, but at no points in this story did I bore or become tired of listening. It was intriguing 100% of the time.

Joe Hill Does it Again!
Revisado: 08-09-17
Would you consider the audio edition of Heart-Shaped Box to be better than the print version?
I have never tried to read a paper copy, but I think that the narrator provides a great perspective.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Heart-Shaped Box?
When the reveal comes in Florida
Which scene was your favorite?
The scene while Jude was being attacked and released his dogs.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I would have, if it weren't for work
Any additional comments?
I was skeptical when I read the description but the reviews convinced me to purchase it. I am happy that I did! Well worth the listen or the read (however you prefer). The Narrator did very well in providing a looming and dark aspect to the book that I believe contributed to the wonderful story.

Historia
Victoria McQueen has an uncanny knack for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. When she rides her bicycle over the rickety old covered bridge in the woods near her house, she always emerges in the places she needs to be. Vic doesn't tell anyone about her unusual ability, because she knows no one will believe her. She has trouble understanding it herself.

A Great Listen
Revisado: 08-09-17
Would you listen to NOS4A2 again? Why?
Yes. Kate Mulgrew's incredible narration alongside Joe Hill's amazing writing skills is just a match made in Heaven! This story draws you in.
What was one of the most memorable moments of NOS4A2?
The point of view from Bing. From someone who genuinely thinks that he is doing good.
What about Kate Mulgrew’s performance did you like?
Her variety of voices created vivid imagery as well as a drawing voice.
If you could rename NOS4A2, what would you call it?
Roads in the Mind
Any additional comments?
I had a bit of a difficult time in the beginning of the book really getting into it. The first couple of chapters. That being said, immediately after that it all comes together.
All the chapters present a unique perspective and detail to the story. An incredible horror book that is one of a kind and certainly going above and beyond expectations. I would highly recommend to anyone who likes a good horror book!
