Droning voice

The book could use editing and the removal of 2 hours of plot without loss of story understanding. The voice of the narrator was putting me to sleep.

Her muse is back!

Georgie is back and she's got game! She has agency, goes after clues on her own and uses her wit to get things done!

And Queenie got a smaller part of the story which is how it should be. Georgie front and center with her beau coming in during the adventure!

SPOILERS AHEAD

One of my favorite part of the book is the meeting she has with Sir Jeremy and Darcy. I was so excited I was giggling! She shows what she can do and knows her worth. Then Sir Jeremy deploys them both for a task. Just thinking about all the possible stories that could be started from this made me dizzy! Spies in France in WW2. Solving a royal family disappearance where they go honeymooning undercover. Helping her mom escape nazi Germany. Possibilities!

The two things I wish would happen on the book: a better discussion with Belinda on her issue. A little more introspection on Georgie's part on why she doesn't trust Darcy and maybe there are many things unknown about him.


Now for next book, please don't skip the part of what happened where they are going Mrs. Bowen! I need detailed descriptions of every moment! Hehehe


And Katherine should be voicing video games also. I wonder if she has done any of that. I'm sending an email to Bioware, she needs to be their next heroine's voice!

Queenie is the Jar-Jar Binks of the Spyness series

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

When Queenie was introduced as a character I never found her likable. Georgie was clumsy and funny enough to carry the comedy on the series.

And the romance should move forward. I think she snookered herself in a writing corner with the "won't sleep with you until you are married" bit.

What about Katherine Kellgren’s performance did you like?

Perfect as always.

Any additional comments?

I was re-listening to the first book and I realized another thing that drew me to the series. Georgie's independence. She has been losing that streak as the series move along.

I'm hoping Rhys finds her muse again on the next book.

Voice actor performance makes the book amazing!

What did you love best about Her Royal Spyness?

The actor is just amazing! All the different characters had different voices and they were all believable and great for the understanding of the plot.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the humor throughout the book. I laughed out loud several times. I enjoyed the plot too.

What about Katherine Kellgren’s performance did you like?

She's great! It's worth the price just to listen to her work if you enjoy women sleuth books that has a great deal of comedy in it. This book is not for those looking for a serious, dense thriller.
