Good until the end, then audio problems
Revisado: 04-25-25
I liked the stories and the narrative for the most part. The book was great up until that last story. For some reason, the audio would drop out. There would be bouts of silence midsentence, which took you out of the story and left you wondering what you missed.

Historia
Langston Hughes was only twenty-four when he published his debut collection of poetry, The Weary Blues. The poems included here blend vernacular speech and musical rhythms to offer a bracing perspective on the African American experience. Traversing a wide range of settings—including the jazz clubs of Harlem, expansive natural landscapes, and seaside taverns—Hughes’s voice as a poet ties these various places together.

Great collection of poems, quick read
Revisado: 02-05-23
I don’t typically read poetry because it’s not my particular cup of tea. I’m drawn more to fictional stories and some nonfiction as well; poetry just hasn’t resonated with me as much. However, I do have an appreciation for the author’s writing style and skill. The poems are not overly cryptic or ones that require an English degree to interpret. I would recommend this to anybody who is looking to read more poetry or is just getting started with poetry.

I’m not sure what are the reviewers are talking about for audio, but this was a great story.
Revisado: 06-28-22
There are a few reviews here saying that the audio quality is horrendous for this series, but I didn’t experience that at all. It seemed perfectly fine and was not distracting in how they said it was. I love a good horror story, and this one fits the bill pretty well. I loved listening to the actors, and the madness portrayed in one of the main characters is palpable. It was exciting listening to him go from a moderate degree of sanity to a high-level degree of insanity.
The story sweeps you up and carries you along for a crazy and wild ride; I was only sad when it ended. It was easy to fall in love with the characters, which can be hard to do when creating a solid story.

Historia
Ten years ago, disaster struck the remote town of Indigo Falls. A horrific event drove the residents underground, into shelters that keep them safe from the danger on the surface. No one speaks about what happened that fateful day, but even the youngest still remember the fear and, most of all, the searing pain when sunlight touched their skin. Now, a handful of families inhabit this bunker together, guided by a charismatic leader named Dr. Imogen Moran.

A refreshing read that pulls you in
Revisado: 06-28-22
I like this book; the storyline was solid, and the characters were well developed. It was pretty evident who was corrupt from the first couple of chapters. It was only a matter of time before the reveal happened. The only thing I would have liked to see a little more of was a point of view through the leader‘s eyes. It would’ve been more terrifying to see her try and justify her actions.

What a chilling story!
Revisado: 07-10-21
This is a great story, it was very well read and put together nicely. The story progresses and leaves you with a sense of dread and unease as it goes along. The narrator was great and I feel that it was executed well.

Historia
Documentary filmmaker Alice Lindstedt has been obsessed with the vanishing residents of the old mining town, dubbed “The Lost Village”, since she was a little girl. In 1959, her grandmother’s entire family disappeared in this mysterious tragedy, and ever since, the unanswered questions surrounding the only two people who were left - a woman stoned to death in the town center and an abandoned newborn - have plagued her. She’s gathered a small crew of friends in the remote village to make a film about what really happened.

Delightfully eerie!
Revisado: 03-27-21
I absolutely love this book the storyline was great and the narrator was spot on, kept me on my toes and sent chills down my spine several times. What got me the most was the epilogue, there was just something about it that pulled the whole novel very nicely. Definitely a five star read!
