Historia
Walking the lesser traveled Portuguese Camino route, author Terence Callery makes the arduous 400-mile sacred pilgrimage from Lisbon to the tomb of Saint James in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. At a crossroads in his life, the former Maine aquaculture executive and alpaca farmer describes the personal quest as “the most intensely spiritual seven weeks of my life.” Portuguese Camino-In Search of the Infinite Moment is the adroitly told story of two journeys taken in tandem. The first story focuses on how his walking meditation brings him into the “infinite moment” where he finds his ...

Finally, informative book about the Camino Portuguese
Revisado: 01-28-25
Lots of information... makes me want to choose this camino! Although pleasant, don't understand why female AI voice used for a male author.

Historia
Anne Catherine Emmerich was born in Germany in 1774. As a child she believed that angels, saints, and the Holy Family visited and talked with her as she worked in the fields. At twenty-four, she had her first mystic vision of the sufferings of Christ, accompanied by stigmata and bleeding as if from the crown of thorns. At twenty-nine, she became an Augustinian nun and continued to have visions and stigmata. In her visions, she recounted scenes from the life of Christ, which she seemed to have witnessed.

Historia
"Life changes fast....You sit down to dinner and life as you know it ends." These were among the first words Joan Didion wrote in January 2004. Her daughter was lying unconscious in an intensive care unit, a victim of pneumonia and septic shock. Her husband, John Gregory Dunne, was dead. The night before New Year's Eve, while they were sitting down to dinner, he suffered a massive and fatal coronary. The two had lived and worked side by side for nearly 40 years.

I listen to this many times a year.
Revisado: 06-15-16
Narrator is perfect. The emotional level is always how I would imagine that the author intended. I listened to this many times before my own child was in a coma, and now I really relate to the year of magical thinking.
