Billy and Patti are scrambling to stop the next killing when their father, Chief of Detectives Dan Harney (Beau Bridges), is kidnapped. But in their race to track him down, they uncover pieces of his past that simply can’t be true. Could their own flesh and blood be covering up a dark secret?

Great story, great performances!
Revisado: 07-09-24
I liked that the story hinted that there might be more to come. We need more mystery/thriller Audible stories/performances like this one.

It's not bad, but I'm done at book 3
Revisado: 05-17-22
However, there are two issues that I have with the book. Firstly, the author doesn't describe the world with enough detail. Whenever there are descriptions, they are glossed over pretty quickly. This frustratingly prevents me from having a clear mental picture of the world and what it should look like.
- *****spoiler alert below***** -
Secondly, I don't like how the elves are this incredibly supernatural race that have unrealistic abilities. How could an entire race of powerful beings be defeated by a normal human race with no supernatural abilities, even with "help." It just doesn't make any sense to me. Armed with these supernatural abilities, they should be able to easily dominate any other creature/race in the whole world with ease. The logic just isn't there. I couldn't bring myself to soldier through and finish book 3, and I most likely will not be reading the subsequent books in the series.
