Historia
Upon the ancient drysine moon/city of Defiance, the UFS Phoenix is being rebuilt, but her crew cannot do so in peace. Parren factions jostle for control of not only Defiance, but of the drysine data-core that Phoenix won at such an awful price. But the parren do not lay sole claim to that ancient knowledge, and within the bowels of the machine-city, something long-dead is awakening. While aliens battle, Captain Debogande struggles to decide his next step. Human emissaries beckon him home, while a terrible new threat drives him toward the far edge of Spiral space.

Poor audio quality
Revisado: 11-11-18
Why go through the effort of getting John Lee to record 16 hours of his life for this to just ruin it by outputting a terrible quality audio file? (Yes I did download it on High settings). I've also checked the iTunes version...it's the same. Shame on you Audible!

Historia
Springtime in Styria. And that means war. There have been nineteen years of blood. The ruthless Grand Duke Orso is locked in a vicious struggle with the squabbling League of Eight, and between them they have bled the land white. While armies march, heads roll and cities burn, behind the scenes bankers, priests and older, darker powers play a deadly game to choose who will be king.

Steven Pacey is now my favourite narrator
Revisado: 09-06-18
Another great book by Joe Abercrombie. Steven Pacey has made it hard for me to enjoy similar books in this genre by other narrators. He isn't just narrating, he is acting out these characters with a wide range of emotions and regional dialects and accents. He is absolutely amazing. It was interesting to get some of the minor characters from the First Law trilogy becoming some of the major characters in this story...a great story of revenge with some exciting capers.

Historia
The battle for survival against the Undead continues. Three weeks of highs and lows, and the group are celebrating their victories and nursing their hurts like never before. They head out once more to a world where the threat comes from an altogether different foe, and in their darkest hour so far, the infection might just be their only ally as Marcy finally finds her role in the team. But will Howie accept it? Will it tear them apart? Will they do the right thing?

Gut wrenching
Revisado: 05-29-18
This was a gut wrenching experience as our beloved characters go through a terrible situation. A good but painful story. If certain situations had transpired I might have given up on the series but the authour reigned it in before it went too far. This was a great listen and Joe Jameson narration is awesome and never disappoints.

Historia
Reeling from the events of the previous night, the team struggle to cope with the shock and pain. How can you win against something you can't bring yourself to fight? Do they use the nuclear option and risk it all? In the north, Cassie grows bored and pushes Gregori and the Boy on a course of action that will change everything, and the infection evolves into a terrifying opponent, pulling both sides into an ever-darkening game of cat and mouse. New characters hear the call to arms, and questions are answered.

The story gets better
Revisado: 05-29-18
First off, Joe Jameson knocks it out of the park with his narration. He has a huge range in character voices and accents and his delivery is so well paced. Just his range in female voices is totally believable and quite amazing.
If you've read or listened to the previous books you may have wondered where the story was going by parts 16 and 17. Part 18 (Day 22) begins to converge the separate story lines and adds a new twist with another towards the end of the book, I really look forward to Part 19.

Repetitious dialogue
Revisado: 09-28-17
I think Joe Jameson is an amazing narrator. He has tweaked Dave's character enough now to be good enough to the original voiced by Dan Morgan. He does an amazing job with all the other characters. I like the story direction. My problem is with the authours writing in the Audible narrative. We are constantly subjected to repetitive description and dialogue. I feel like the authour is padding out the story with lengthy meaningless dialogue that goes in repetitive circles along with the comradery mantra that Howie keeps delivering ad nauseum.
