Historia
When Newton discovered the law of gravity, he unified the rules governing the heavens and the Earth. Since then, physicists have been placing new forces into ever-grander theories. But perhaps the ultimate challenge is achieving a monumental synthesis of the two remaining theories—relativity and the quantum theory. This would be the crowning achievement of science, a profound merging of all the forces of nature into one beautiful, magnificent equation to unlock the deepest mysteries in science: What happened before the Big Bang?

Easy listening
Revisado: 04-21-21
Easy to listen to, engrossing, thorough. A brief history of western physics. Michio Kaku is one of the few scientists today who approach’s the world of theoretical physics without real agendas of preserving or attacking other views, including religion. My only question / reservation is; not a mention of Everett’s many world interpretation. Why? , I can’t help but wonder as he did touch upon less accepted ideas like the Simulation theory.

Historia
Cyclonic hordes of insects, a telepathic despot, body-swapping sex - just a few of the surprises Salvador Samuels encounters when he’s swept back to precolonial times, walking in the moccasins of a blind Indian - who, in turn, has been transported into Salvador’s body in present-day America. Four hundred years apart, they’re bound by a mission to rescue our world, aided by the mysterious presence of the mounds. Thousands of these ancient earthworks once dotted the landscape of North America.

One of those books that...

....You dont want to put down. Or, in the case of Audible, turn off. I think one of it's most compelling qualities is it's genre alluding identity - part time travel, part Castaneda leaning magic tale, told by a thoroughly 21st century New Yorker. In lesser skilled hands, the result could have been hard to get through, but, as I said I didnt want this story to end. It was easy to follow. I've listened to maybe 50 books in recent years and I think the narration here is as good or better than any I've previously heard.

Historia
The second and concluding volume of Ian Bell's critically lauded study of the inimitable Bob Dylan. By the middle of the 1970s, Bob Dylan's position as the preeminent artist of his generation was assured. The 1975 album Blood on the Tracks seemed to prove, finally, that an uncertain age had found its poet. Perverse or driven, Dylan refused the role. By the decade's end, the counterculture's poster child had embraced conservative, evangelical Christianity. Fans and critics alike were confused; many were aghast. Still the hits kept coming.

Compared to the man, a very small book.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
And then there's the narration. An acceptable British reader. At least until the first of many passages quoting Dylan, where he breaks out his , I guess, best Dylan impersonation. Sorta like Joan Baez's, come to think of it. But her's is obviously a joke. Here it is indescribably annoying by the second chapter - and it will appear as a bizzaro world Greek chorus every few minutes. I don't understand the judgement that thought this was a good idea.
