Relentless Souls
Revisado: 05-07-19
Note: I was given this story at my request and have agreed to provide a voluntary and unbiased review.
Although enjoyable as a single read-through, the story was linear and predictable; leaving you feeling as though you started with the final book in a series.
The story focuses around the investigation of a murderer that kills with a power believed to only be known to an order of peace keeping monks.
The narration is well done and lends to the atmosphere of the world.

Magic, Politics, and Social Uprising
Revisado: 11-02-18
"This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review."
In this book I have found an author whose writing style and would building balance and complement each other. You feel as though the people and situations they find themselves in could realistically take place (given the magic system). The characters internal struggles are well captured. The background details and richness of the vocabulary employed are impressive. I can only hope that the author can continue supplying this level of engagement without too long a gap between books.

Elemental Dragon's and Magic
Revisado: 10-10-18
The writing style/narration is engaging and drives the story with a good balance between character development and action. The world-building aspects of the story are detailed and complete enough that the world is part of the story and not a mere background (somewhere you could actual visit).
The story is told from the perspective of a dead character or the spiritual embodiment of that person.
The biggest turn off for me in listening to this book was that early on there are multiple excessively descriptive sexual references that could have been toned down or removed without impacting the story line. Overall a great book that i enjoyed more the second time through for all the detailed i had missed and foresight on thing eluded to.

Dragons, magic, alchemy, and the comming of age
Revisado: 07-04-18
I received an copy of this book for evaluation from audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. The narrator, does an excellent job in telling the story and brings each of the players to life. The story line is well developed and interesting but it was a bit linear and I would place this as a youth fantastic. The author does an amazing job with attention to details is such a way as to have you feeling what the player is feeling. After I was done listening to the book I put it down for a few weeks and went back to listen to it again, like I do with most books. However, this is more of a once-through and done than a book worth the re-read.

What made the experience of listening to Book of Names the most enjoyable?
Although outside of what I normal enjoy 'epic fantasy', this book was a pleasure to listen to. I would have enjoyed a little more background on the people/cultures/etc. I had mixed feeling early on about all the inclusion of pop-culture references through into the book, they seemed to decreases dramatically about one third of the way into the book. This is a series I'm inclined to continue reading and look forward to exploring the woulds the brothers visit.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The narrator did a great job of pacing the story, not too fast or slow. However the range of vocal diversity between various characters was underwhelming.
Any additional comments?

Trolls, goblins, and Tarah Woodblade oh my...
Revisado: 08-18-16
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
As this is both book six in the series and book one of a saga one can anticipate that there are background details you'll be missing here or there. You expect the first few captors to bring you up to speed and the story to progress in some interesting and meaningful way. None of that happens, almost no backstory, the lead character goes on a few quests and we learn about other characters and what they are doing in this world with little information as to how they are related let alone even included in this story. Warning... I you are not prepared to listen/read about a girl that talks to the memories of her father and grand father, in which she caunstantly thinks 'Tarah Woodblade, doesn't cry..''Tarah Woodblade, doesn't give-up...' 'Tarah Woodblade, doesn't...' The first five chapters or so seemingly have her saying/thinking her name more times than one would want to count and I found it to be a significant detractor from the mediaoker story line.
Would you recommend Tarah Woodblade to your friends? Why or why not?
Absolutely not. The first 4-5 chapters are torture to get through. The story-line and character development are mediaoker
