Historia
An all-new Dresden Files story headlines this urban fantasy short story collection starring the Windy City's favorite wizard. From the Wild West to the bleachers at Wrigley Field, humans, zombies, incubi, and even fey royalty appear, ready to blur the line between friend and foe. In the never-before-published "Zoo Day", Harry treads new ground as a dad, while fan-favorite characters Molly Carpenter, his onetime apprentice, White Council Warden Anastasia Luccio, and even Bigfoot stalk through the pages of more classic tales.

Welcome Back, Harry!
Revisado: 12-27-18
Great stories, all, and I loved learning about some of the not-so-often appearing characters from the Dresden Files. Narration was great, and I was happy to find that Jim Butcher can narrate as well as the best.

What could be scarier than the first day of school? How about a crash course in the paranormal from Charlaine Harris and Toni L. P. Kelner, editors of Home Improvement: Undead Edition? Your worst school nightmares - taking that math test you never studied for, finding yourself naked in school assembly, not knowing which door to enter - will pale in comparison to these 13 original stories that take academic anxiety to whole new realms.

Lots of great stories here
Revisado: 12-27-18
Some of the stories are really great, a few not so good, and so I skipped through those, hence the 4 stars for overall and for story. Narration was excellent (although I consider it a True Crime for anyone but Khristine Hvam to narrate Faith Hunter even if Jane wasn't in this particular story). All in all, worth the credit, and I'm sure I'll listen to it again.

THIS HAS TO BE HOW IT HAPPENED
Revisado: 02-27-18
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely would recommend--the story is fascinating, and after reading one is left with the surety of what really happened.
What did you like best about this story?
I like the story of how Merlin progressed from an unwelcome bastard son to the master he became.
What does Derek Perkins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Derek Perkins brings the right voice and tone to the entire story; his voice for each character is perfect.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
How It Began
Any additional comments?
I'm so thrilled that we finally have an unabridged version of this classic.

JANE YELLOWROCK, WELL...ROCKS!
Revisado: 02-21-18
What did you love best about Skinwalker?
I loved best Jane's character and hearing it develop.
What other book might you compare Skinwalker to and why?
I think Jane Yellowrock books stand alone.
Have you listened to any of Khristine Hvam’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Khristine Hvam is perfect in all her Jane Yellowrock narrations. The books are great by themselves, but Khristine Hvam makes them even better.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
My reaction was to run and get more Jane Yellowrock books.
Any additional comments?
I always count the weeks until Faith can write the next installment.

Revisado: 12-23-16
Would you listen to The Emperor's Blades again? Why?
I would listen again, especially since it is so well narrated.
What other book might you compare The Emperor's Blades to and why?
It seems unique to me.
Which scene was your favorite?
There are too many favorites to pick one.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The moment when the new emperor learned of his status.
Any additional comments?
Simon Vance is a master narrator--I can't imagine how a person can have so many voices for all the characters. I originally got this book because he was the narrator. My delight was twofold when I loved the story.

Historia
Before Nell Ingram met skinwalker Jane Yellowrock, she had no one to rely on, finding strength only in her arcane connection to the dark woods around her. But now she has friends in the newly formed PsyLED team to keep her grounded - even if being part of the agency responsible for policing paranormals comes with dangers of its own.

Fantastic!
Revisado: 12-23-16
If you could sum up Curse on the Land in three words, what would they be?
Complex and fascinating!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Well, besides Nell, I like Sol (and I'm not sure how to spell her name since I've only heard it) She has so many layers besides the obvious one.
What about Khristine Hvam’s performance did you like?
Khristine Hvam is a master, and she makes Faith's books even better! I hope she will always continue to narrate Jane and Nell books.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but since I only allow myself to listen in the car, I couldn't. I did spend some time sitting in the driveway, though.
Any additional comments?
I want the next one tomorrow! (And please fix Rick!)

When Nell Ingram met skinwalker Jane Yellowrock, she was almost alone in the world, exiled by both choice and fear from the cult she was raised in, defending herself with the magic she drew from her deep connection to the forest that surrounds her. Now, Jane has referred Nell to PsyLED, a Homeland Security agency policing paranormals, and agent Rick LaFleur has shown up at Nell's doorstep.

just WOW
Revisado: 10-06-16
If you could sum up Blood of the Earth in three words, what would they be?
Fantastic new character.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Well, Rick always pisses me off, so not him. Nell is sort of beyond liking or not. She is a totally unique character, with layers and layers--perhaps even more than Jane, who has plenty. I think of all the characters I liked her brother Sam best--he grew up to go beyond any expectations. Nell's daddy, too, was a surprising hero.
Which character – as performed by Khristine Hvam – was your favorite?
Oh, Khristine Hvam has outdone herself, although I'd not have thought she could do any better than she has done with the Jane Yellowrock series. I love her more and more. It's hard to say which one I think she did best since all of her characters get a 12 on a range of 1-10.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I think it's when Nell's sister's fiance comes into the house with his shotgun and hound and Nell begins to realize her entire family have not been 'yes' people to the cult. (I'm saying cult here rather than church)
Any additional comments?
Oh, now we have to wait for more Nell IN ADDITION to waiting for more Jane. Sigh.

Historia
Slaying vampires is child's play for skinwalker Jane Yellowrock. But handling the complicated politics of New Orleans' supernatural players is another story.... Jane is keeping the peace between visiting groups of witches and vamps in the city, but then trouble comes knocking on her door. When her house is magically attacked, the wild chase to find her assailants unearths a mystery that has literally been buried deep. A missing master vampire, presumed long deceased, is found chained in a pit...undead, raving mad, and in the company of two human bodies.

JANE CONTINUES TO BE TERRIFIC!
Revisado: 06-15-16
What did you love best about Shadow Rites?
I loved it all!
What other book might you compare Shadow Rites to and why?
The only comparison would be to previous Jane Yellowrock books.
Which character – as performed by Khristine Hvam – was your favorite?
Khristine Hvam is fantastic with all the characters. I love her Jane, and Beast is perfect!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me celebrate, but of course, after an 'oh crap' here and there, along with Jane.
Any additional comments?
The only problem with Jane Yellowrock books is that when you finish one, it seems forever until the next one is forthcoming. I hope hope hope Khristine Hvam continues to narrate--she makes the books even better.

Filling in pieces of the pie
Revisado: 12-16-14
Where does Shifting Shadows rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I liked Shifting Shadows very much--I loved the way it expanded the characters in small ways not possible in the novels.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Mercy is my favorite character, and since the whole series is built around her, that's a good thing. Mercy is an oddity in her own world, and manages to succeed anyway.
Which scene was your favorite?
I iked every one. Each story brought a sense of excitement, wondering which aspect of which character she would explore next.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Since it is an anthology, it is a book that can be listened to in more than one sitting, handy for short travels, and I listened in that manner. Had I been in a position to listen all the way through, I would have.
