Historia
With The Interruption of Everything, her sixth novel, Terry McMillan takes on the fault lines of mid-life and family life, reminds us once again of the redeeming power of friendship, and turns her eye toward the dilemma of how a woman starts to put her own needs higher on the to-do list while not shortchanging everyone else.

One of the best
Revisado: 10-08-19
I absolutely love reading and hearing Toni Morrison read this book. She is a genius storyteller. Its nothing like hearing the intention of her words when she reads this. I couldn't stop listening. I will listen to it again. One of the most poetic parts is the very last sentence. This is a great book for every young black person to read. It is very important. Thank you Toni Morrison, ase'o!!

Jenifer Lewis keeps it real in this provocative and touching memoir by a Midwestern girl with a dream whose journey from poverty to Hollywood will move, shock, and inspire listeners. Told in the audacious voice her fans adore, Jenifer describes a road to fame made treacherous by dysfunction and undiagnosed mental illness, including a sex addiction. Yet, supported by loving friends and strengthened by "inner soldiers", Jenifer never stopped entertaining and creating.

Perhaps her greatest performance yet!
Revisado: 12-17-18
Jenifer Lewis has left me feeling amazing. Her memoir made me laugh hysterically, cry, yet feel an uplifting sense of well being and joy. Her book is full of hilarious stories and hopeful triumphs over tragedies and challenges. It's bold and so honest and we do get to hear her sultry, baritone, resonate periodically throughout the book. She certainly left me wanting more.
