For context, I do the bookkeeping for my husband's small commercial contracting business and urgently need to learn double entry accounting as we have long outgrown my single entry excel sheet.
This author has a way of explaining from the very foundation unlike the other two beginner books I tried (Quickstart Guide and a different book by Greg Shields). He follows a repetitive script throughout each different example, which really helped my mind latch on the the actual pattern and mechanics of how the technical aspects work. I'm reading his Accounting Instruction #200 now, and this one is even better for a deep dive into the actual, technical, mechanical workings of HOW to do double entry bookkeeping/accounting. A phenomenal teacher, I knew I had to go out of my way to leave a review.

Every word is so well placed and I can feel the goodness of the author's intentions in every chapter. A fantastic in-depth exploration of how the primitive protective functions of our nervous system - fight, flight, and freeze - surface as drivers of our social interactions and how that limits us if we are unable to consciously and healthily inhabit the whole range of our nervous system. For example, avoidance being an extension of "flight" and helplessness being an extension of "freeze" responses.
