Fluffy clouds and wishful thinking
Revisado: 09-26-21
Fluffy clouds in wishful thinking are only going to get you so far. It was five hours and 22 minutes before the concept of having a budget was even Internet. Hours worth of talk without mentioning the word budget makes this book pretty difficult to listen to

Most Arrogant and Condescending Book
Revisado: 09-15-21
If you are trying to increase your faith in God, this book is not it. While it does speak of values, and has good intentions, the author does nothing but boast about his dealings as a therapist, constantly berates and mocks, and does not understand what an actual marriage is about. Terrible way to encourage someone to “be a man” while at the same time being a bigot and a condescending idiot. This is literally the worst book I’ve ever read, and I read it all just to make sure it didn’t have a change of heart. Shame on this author.

Rip off of geek culture
Revisado: 02-10-20
I do like this book. The story kept me entertained. However, some books pay homage to geek culture, pop culture, etc. this book has sooo many lame attempts that just fall flat on their face for me. Some of the characters are direct rip offs from the Martian or Battlestar Galactica. Inserting one liners about Star Wars that doesn’t help your story out in anyway comes off as cheap. I got so angry at this book because the story was good enough on its own and didn’t need that stuff. Vincent Hachour is a direct ripoff of Venket Kapoor from the Martian. (Later named Vincent in the movie)...Kara was a direct ripoff of Kara Trace from BSG. It’s not homage when you rip it off entirely.

Not as bad as the reviews
Revisado: 10-26-19
Ok, I will say the writing is very childish, but the narration is very good. I don’t like that it is a first person perspective of Luke Skywalker and how the reader is forced to pretend to want to be a Jedi. However, the story is still there with great acting. I still encourage everyone to read this, and forget about the childish parts.

Historia
Escape from Dannemora examines the strange case of Joyce Mitchell, the long-time prison employee who had a sexual relationship with at least one of the killers, and who smuggled them tools and aided in the escape, while they cooked up a plan to kill her husband. In the end, Benson looks closely at conditions at the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York, a crumbling Gothic pile now under investigation for charges of drug trafficking and brutality.

Inaccurate....from the start.
Revisado: 03-01-19
I am a local that lived through the escape. From the very beginning of the book it is written that the Adirondack Park has over 100 peaks that are over 5,000 feet high. This is inaccurate. We have 46 peaks that are over 4000 feet high and over 100 that are above 3000 feet. If the author can flub up on such a small detail, it frightens me to read what liberties might be taken in the events of the prison escape. I will be returning the book.

Welcome to the age of behavioral addiction - an age in which half of the American population is addicted to at least one behavior. We obsess over our emails, Instagram likes, and Facebook feeds; we binge on TV episodes and YouTube videos; we work longer hours each year; and we spend an average of three hours each day using our smartphones. Half of us would rather suffer a broken bone than a broken phone, and Millennial kids spend so much time in front of screens that they struggle to interact with real, live humans.

Great insight on Addiction to anything
Revisado: 08-06-18
Great Book with a good Narrator. It can be repetitive in spots, but I think that is needed to clearly depict addiction to anything from substances to tech. An eye opening, though provoking book.

Golden Globe nominee Scarlett Johansson ( Lost in Translation, Girl with a Pearl Earring) brings a palpable sense of joy and exuberance to her performance of Lewis Carroll's enduring classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The young and imaginative Alice grows weary of her storybook, one "without pictures or conversations", and follows a hasty hare underground - to come face to face with a host of strange and fantastic characters.

I for one never write reviews. I usually rate books very high. The narration in this book was so bad, I couldn’t enjoy it. Voices of Characters were very poorly done. Just a terrible version of this story.

Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner first crossed paths as actors on the set of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Little did they know that their next roles, in a new science-fiction television series, would shape their lives in ways no one could have anticipated. In 79 television episodes of Star Trek and six feature films, they grew to know each other more than most friends could ever imagine. Over the course of half a century, Shatner and Nimoy saw each other through personal and professional highs and lows.

Here is what I did about the Narration comments
Revisado: 03-22-16
What did you like best about The Restaurant at the End of the Universe? What did you like least?
I really enjoyed the humor of this book. I found my self joking about it days later, when I finally got some of the jokes! There is more to this story than just the random things that happen. My least favorite part, is how the story jumps around a bit too much, but that's not a real big deal.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I've heard a lot of people complaining about the narration. It is GREAT! It is also DIFFERENT from the first book. I think that's what everyone had a hard time with. SO...what I did was listen to a different book after listening to Hitchhikers Guide, and I had forgotten some of the accents in the first book. It helped me quite a bit adjust to Zafod's new voice.
Was The Restaurant at the End of the Universe worth the listening time?
Yes.
Any additional comments?
Listen to Hitchhiker's First, then switch gears, listen to a completely different book...then come back for book two. You will enjoy the new narrator this way.
