If you love Byron Katie or Eckardt Tolle or The Sedona Method, you’ll love this book. It helped me take a new look at my life and how I create my experiences— especially those she calls “don’t like” experiences.
It’s disturbing in all the right ways and has many case studies submitted by ordinary people whose lives were changed by using this enquiry method. I just finished it and I’ve bought the print book as well so I can better follow along with the exercises.

I’m very glad this man is not my friend or partner. He sees all relationships through the lens of “what’s in it for me”. Even when he says people should take care of the relationship itself — he calls this “Standing for Three” — its always through the lens of “what’s in it for Me.
His premise is that it’s ultimately damaging to avoid conflict in relationships and he promises some tools that will help people deal with it better.
He identifies 4 relational needs — to be Safe Seen Soothed and Supported. This is excellent. And all the advice he gives seems to undermine those four pillars. Interrupt people when they talk he says. Don’t let them “monologue” because it wastes your time. How is that supposed to promote feeling safe seen soothed or supported?
Make clear agreements — he suggests 13 of them! Because if you have clear agreements you can avoid much conflict.
I guess it’s superficially helpful. But he has no compassion for what his partner or friend is going through.
He just wants them to have clear agreements that they honour at all times so that when agreements get broken he can shove the contract in their face.
He sweeps all the hard intimate emotional work under the carpet by applying these mechanistic superficial fixes.
I’m a relationship coach and was hoping for some tools to help my clients.
Stick to real relationship gurus—people like The Gottmans or Brené Brown.
If I used these tools with my clients in the way he suggests, I would be doing the opposite of what they pay me for. It’s like putting plaster on an axe wound and ignoring the underlying infection.
An awful book full of terrible advice from a thoroughly smug and unlikeble man.
Ugh.

This book starts with short chapters on the kinds of comedy available to you as a standup. Then it goes into writing jokes. The advice is very good. It even has sections on being an MC and overcoming self-criticism. The writer is deeply knowledgeable and experienced. The book is right up to date, talking about YouTube and social media. Start with this book and if you like it, go on to Greg Dean and Judy Carter and the other great writers about comedy. If, like me, you’ve hit a slump in your comedy performing this inspiring book will jolt you from your lethargy. You’ll need more than a book to get “undeniably good”.

These things are a matter of timing. I am ready to implement t the excellent plan laid out in this book. There’s a lot of what to do. The gap is knowing how to do it. Build a funnel, he says, but how? I know a lot about the writing copy, creating content, writing lead magnets and so on. The more are some concrete ideas here that are very helpful.
With this structure combined with knowing how Facebook and google ads work, PLUS knowing how analytics works and knowing how to integrate a CRM and a mailing list provider and all the rest makes this a good book. Its not the only book you need. But it’s a good start.

The man is engaging and funny and articulate and erudite.
What an amazing romp through language.
If you’re interested in languages and how they work, especially if you speak more than one language, do yourself a favour and listen to this.
Superlative.

This step by step guide is brilliant at helping clarify a brand message and turning it into a compelling offering.
I’ve been really battling to articulate my consulting offering. It’s taken a year and countless conversations and I’ve got nowhere.
I spent the day listening to the book and making notes over 10 pages of notes. I am now equipped to re-work my website, write emails to my database of 1,900 contacts and be confident that I have something of value to offer.
Most books like this start with up to an hour of background fluff. Not this one. It jumps straight into the content. It’s clear to see why storybrand the business is so successful. Thank you for your generosity in writing this book. You have changed my approach which means I have the ability to change my clients lives as well. Thank you!

I listened to around 45 minutes and thought is there an actual point here? And boy, was there a point.
Brilliant, short, highly useful and even inspirational

Unique and valuable first-person account

Cooper Beckett has chutzpah. No doubt about it.
This was an entertaining and valuable first-person account of Beckett's start in swinging, what he learned, how it affected his relationships.
It ends in a tantalising way -- with Beckett beginning to explore polyamory -- not just swinging, opening himself up to multiple loving relationships, not just multiple sexual relationships.
I liked how Beckett grows and changes during the journey.
I was slightly irritated with the guy's voice and accent, and his quasi-humorous asides, but I think that's part of Beckett's rough charm.
Sometimes he's not the most likeable character. But I'm impressed with his commitment to personal growth. Thanks for sharing your story so far, Mr Beckett.

As a dad of two girls I found this book thought provoking and necessary. Peggy Orenstein is a deep thinker on all things girl and womanly.
I want to impart these lessons to all parents of boys and girls.
It's a damning indictment of how the west treats women.
I have taken some concrete steps that, hopefully, will allow my 4 and 7 year old daugters to better navigate their adulthoods.

I would recommend this book to anybody who has been married more than two years -- after the dopamine has worn off.
No one person can be everything to another person.
The author is as unflinchingly honest as she can be. It's beautifully written as well.
My wife is reading it now and enjoying it just as much.
Thank you Robin Rinaldi for this beautiful and important work.
