What an incredible ending to a gignormous would building story with a clear explanation of multiverses. Would love to read a spin off from this story.

Amazing character depth in this novel. The residents of Chicken Hill felt iike cousins, and the relationship of the blacks and the "limited caring" immigrants awaken childhood memories for me long forgotten.

Wasted Credit...

Reading all of the positive feedback, I was compelled to use a credit on an author with whom I am not familiar. Oh how I WISH I had made better use of that credit! The storyline was COMPLETELY unbelievable, yet totally predictable, and the characters one dimensional. I think what really ruined it for me, though, was the narrator's interpretation of the voices of the characters. Especially Carlos, whom she made sound like a caricature from a really bad 70's blaxploitation movie. The "sista gurl" vibe she tried to give Monica's best friend fell completely flat.
I wouldn't waste the credit.

Enjoyed it!

I used to be an avid fan of Mr. Dickey's, but his last few books didn't grab me. I had given up, then decided to give this one a try. I was completely drawn in by the narrator's reading style, and I loved the way the characters evolved. The storyline wasn't formulaic, which was what was disappointed me about his previous works. Kept my rapt attention until the unexpected ending...great listen!
