Historia
In the course of a single winter’s night, four people vanish without a trace across a small town. Nora’s estranged best friend, Becca, is one of the lost. As Nora tries to untangle the truth of Becca’s disappearance, she discovers a darkness in her town’s past, as well as a string of coded messages Becca left for her to unravel. These clues lead Nora to a piece of local lore: a legendary goddess of forgotten origins who played a role in Nora and Becca’s own childhood games.

Historia
Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding. It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans - except Katniss.

I have to say how impressed I am that the movies stayed so true to the books! I obviously appreciate the books more, as the narrator was great, and it brings out so many emotions listening to the full story. Such a great description of all the characters, I would definitely recommend to other readers! I only read this because I liked the movies so much, and I'm glad I did!

Historia
Against all odds, Katniss has won the Hunger Games. She and fellow District 12 tribute Peeta Mellark are miraculously still alive. Katniss should be relieved, happy even. After all, she has returned to her family and her longtime friend, Gale. Yet nothing is the way Katniss wishes it to be. Gale holds her at an icy distance. Peeta has turned his back on her completely. And there are whispers of a rebellion against the Capitol - a rebellion that Katniss and Peeta may have helped create. Much to her shock, Katniss has fueled an unrest she’s afraid she cannot stop.

I loved the movies, the books are way better though, the only difference in the books are a few characters, and some of the scenarios. in the book you also don't get the story from other characters POV, like game makers scenes, or President scenes, no scenes that don't involve Katniss, I'm totally OK with that too!! Great book, great narrator! on to catching fire!

eerie, and unsettling, I loved it!
Revisado: 12-21-23
I couldn't stop listening to this book! It's very deatailed story telling, and the time jumps aren't confusing to the story. It kept me on the edge of my seat for almost all the book, there are some slow burning chapters, but, I wasnt upset about those at all! I don't get creeped out very easily. But many parts in this book definitely creeped me out. I've always had realistic awful nightmares so this really hit home for me. The narrator was great! I highly recommend!

Definitely a modern day Rosemary's baby. The story had me guessing until the end. I didn't trust anyone up until the ending was explained. I hope AHS lives up to the book! Great plot, don't change it!

Historia
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

You are cordially invited to the wedding of the decade, when Christian Grey will make Anastasia Steele his wife. But is he really husband material? His dad is unsure, his brother wants to organize one helluva bachelor party, and his fiancée won’t vow to obey.... And marriage brings its own challenges. Their passion for each other burns hotter and deeper than ever, but Ana’s defiant spirit continues to stir Christian’s darkest fears and tests his need for control. As old rivalries and resentments endanger them both, one misjudgment threatens to tear them apart.

Revisado: 11-07-21
Ok, so where do I start? **SPOILERS AHEAD**
The only reason 50 SOG (books from Ana's perspective) was because my OCD won't allow me to start something I can't finish. Apparently Ms. Steele grew up Amish, even though she is about to graduate college with a 4.0 she has no idea how to use a laptop or cell phone. She is an exceptionally feeble, uninteresting, Sesquipedalian 😂
She walks into Christian's playroom, covered in whips, chains, floggers, canes, nipple clamps and more...a lifestyle he has been honest about from the beginning, then cries after she asks him to do his worst..ASKS HIM..then tells him he's one effed up son of a bi**h, I think Christian made his bdsm lifestyle crystal clear from the beginning, then she doesn't safe word, and shames him for something she asked for!!! She knows that lifestyle is in him, that's what he likes, and she continues to ask him throughout the trilogy to "take me the red room!" "Red room here we come!" Seriously??!! She freaks out when he buys her things, then asks him to buy her a $400,000 car for her birthday (in white). What??! Christian tells her to go back to escala to hang out with Kate because someone tried to murder her him, and she throws a fit, like a petulant child (as she likes to call Christian constantly). She let's him pull her lady stick out of her and do the nasty right after, use butt plugs, plus much, much more, and she won't let him stay in the bathroom while she pees? She is apparently like no other woman and is always in the mood, there is never, ever a day she just doesn't feel like it, Ana is always ready to go! She's a weak, whiney nag. She is the antithesis of a strong female character. The "oh my's" were so irritating to hear. The narrator is very hard to listen to as well, I found if you speed it up to 1.30, or 1.35 it's definitely a little easier to listen to. I begrudgingly finished 50 SOG, and started again listening to the books from Christian's perspective, they are simply called Grey, darker, and freed. They are 1000 times more interesting, you get to learn about the other characters and their backgrounds, Elena, Grace, Taylor, Mrs. Jones, Roz, Karrick, Mia, Elliott etc. You finally hear Christian's conversation with his mom when she finds out about his relationship with Elena, what transpired between the 2 when he left Ana to see Mrs. Robinson. I will say I actually didn't hate the books from Christian's POV, the narrator was good as well. Trust me, if you are going to read the trilogy, read these versions, you'll save yourself the irritation, and frustration with Ana listening to her "inner goddess". Hope this review helps!

Their scorching, sensual affair ended in heartbreak and recrimination, but Christian Grey cannot get Anastasia Steele out of his mind, or his blood. Determined to win her back, he tries to suppress his darkest desires and his need for complete control, and to love Ana on her own terms. But the horrors of his childhood still haunt him, and Ana’s scheming boss, Jack Hyde, clearly wants her for himself. Can Christian’s confidant and therapist, Dr. Flynn, help him face down his demons?
