Historia
Coexisting but conflicting needs create self-sabotaging behaviors. This is why we resist efforts to change, often until they feel completely futile. But by extracting crucial insight from our most damaging habits, building emotional intelligence by better understanding our brains and bodies, releasing past experiences at a cellular level, and learning to act as our highest potential future selves, we can step out of our own way and into our potential.

How much our past experiences control our current thoughts.
Revisado: 02-19-25
The Mountain Is You by Brianna Wiest is a thoughtful and insightful book about self-sabotage and personal growth. Wiest does a great job of breaking down the ways we hold ourselves back and offers practical guidance on how to overcome these internal obstacles. The premise of the book—using the metaphor of a mountain to represent our personal struggles—was engaging and resonated with me. However,
I found the occasional use of foul language unnecessary and distracting from the book’s overall message. While the use of this language seems to have grown over my 61 years, I would like to remind authors, there are many other words in the English language that will drive your point and that not all readers have succumbed to the use of these words.
Despite this, I still mostly appreciated the wisdom and motivation it provided, making it a somewhat worthwhile read for those on a journey of self-improvement.

Historia
Here, the FUBU founder and star of ABC's Shark Tank shows that, far from being a liability, broke can actually be your greatest competitive advantage as an entrepreneur. Why? Because starting a business from broke forces you to think more creatively. It forces you to use your resources more efficiently. It forces you to connect with your customers more authentically and market your ideas more imaginatively.

Great Insight
Revisado: 04-03-17
The tag team narration efforts between Daymomd John and MTV News reporter Sway Calloway was fantastic. They paired well together. The content and presentation of ideas and individuals from all walks of entrepreneurship is well balanced and presented. The Power of Broke is well worth the listen if you're looking for insight on how others pushed through using the core business idea of remaining hungry in and through the adventure.

Historia
Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles?Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you'll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever.

Wow! Great subject matter!
Revisado: 02-02-17
Great we're on the subject of decluttering/tidying. Love the passion in which the author shares throughout the book for something in which she finds joy. Looking forward to what my home may look like in the next six months as I process through this adventure of tidying.

Historia
Why do only a few people get to say "I love my job?" It seems unfair that finding fulfillment at work is like winning a lottery; that only a few lucky ones get to feel valued by their organizations, to feel like they belong. Imagine a world where almost everyone wakes up inspired to go to work, feels trusted and valued during the day, then returns home feeling fulfilled. This is not a crazy, idealized notion. Today, in many successful organizations, great leaders are creating environments in which people naturally work together to do remarkable things.

Great Reminder
Revisado: 02-11-15
This book is an awesome reminder of where we've been where we are currently and where we have the potential of going. As Simon states, and I summarize, Leaders at not those who sit at the bastion at the top, but all who are within the organization. It's up to us to decide the direction we go from here.

Great Processed Thinking

Loved the detailed processes laid out in this book. Picking them up now in life, wishing someone would have shared these with me 30 years ago, but I'll have no regrets and move forward!
