Historia
Sergeant Gastovsky—Gas to everyone but his superior officers—never wanted to be a soldier. Far from it. But when a con goes wrong and he needs a place to lay low for a while, he finds himself wearing the power armor of the augmented infantry. After three years on a six-year contract, Gas has found his groove running low-level cons and various illegal activities that make him good money on the side. He’s the guy who can get you what you need. But he’s always had his eye out for a big score—the one that might set him up for life after the military.

Excellent
Revisado: 09-01-22
Great listen, the narrator captured the voices with uniqueness. The plot was fun to follow and was unique in places. Language was a bit immature with dozen of gratuitous F bombs.

Immature, teenage angst in space
Revisado: 08-16-22
The story line looked to be compelling, but the execution was disappointing. Jeff Hays’ narration was good, enjoyed his various voices for the characters. The characters were one dimensional and predictable. I wished for an adult. I was tempted by the box set, lots of hours for the credit, mistake.

Characters lack direction
Revisado: 08-12-22
Simon Vance is excellent as usual. The Main Character (MC), the ranger is the most patient man to the point of being unbelievable. The supporting characters constantly agonize to the point of tedium over the morals of killing the enemy. Reasonable, but come to a conclusion. How many family members and innocents need to die? A middle age military man following teenagers, really?

Entertaining, but crying out for less clueless MCs
Revisado: 08-04-22
The narrator is excellent, very entertaining, voices accurately delivered. The story is compelling yet hindered by plot execution and character development. The main characters (MC) lack the ability to reason. They are too dumb to have survive the plot. For example, the are often paralyzed by indecision and when strategizing the MCs state X could be harmful or X could be helpful and proceed to say the same about other elements without coming to any conclusion. Many more examples can be found. Why refer to the main character by two different names throughout the book? Editing would have been helpful. A good book needing guidance to raise it to the next level. To the author, thank you, I enjoyed your work, wish you had better editing.

Excellent listen, except for “the Sarah”
Revisado: 05-28-22
Great story and the narrator added so much to my listen. However, one huge flaw, Chase’s love interest, Sarah. The man has no spine. If no Sarah life is not worth living. Spoiler alert, he is willing to let the galaxy die for his Sarah. She is such a selfish narcissist insisting to fly and be captured and whines when he risks everything for her.

Historia
The assassination of Yitzhak Rabin remains the single most consequential event in Israel's recent history and one that fundamentally altered the trajectory for both Israel and the Palestinians. Killing a King relates the parallel stories of Rabin and his stalker, Yigal Amir, over the two years leading up to the assassination, as one of them planned political deals he hoped would lead to peace - and the other plotted murder.

Politically bias, not objective
Revisado: 02-06-22
The last king of Israel was lead away in bronze chains to Babylon after having his family put to death and his eyes put out by Nebuchadnezzar. A respected leader but no king. The reason why the author would label the killers as libertarians. Land for peace works only so long as both parties want peace.

Cheesy
Revisado: 08-12-21
The first two books in the series were excellent, this book is childish and silly. Like the author grew tired of writing the series. This book could have been so much more, as the first two. I like the author’s work and will buy additional books, this one though is not up to his usual excellence.

Coffee and Beer an Overlooked Combination
Revisado: 02-15-21
Characters who have certain idiosyncrasies is pleasing but the author’s over exuberant love of both beverages distracts from the story. His knowledge of both coffee and beer is impressive. However, the author has overlooked coffee infused beer. The combination of the flavor and aroma characteristics of coffee with a dark rich malt flavored porter makes an excellent beverage. The story loses believability in the authors neglect of coffee beer.

Preachy
Revisado: 02-15-21
A good story ruined by preaching a political word view to excess. Very judgmental and intolerant to the point of damaging any good the author desires. His first book did an excellent job of expressing a tolerant society in a convincing and credible presentation of both characters and story.
