Historia
Jeannette Walls grew up with parents whose ideals and stubborn nonconformity were both their curse and their salvation. Rex and Rose Mary Walls had four children. In the beginning, they lived like nomads, moving among Southwest desert towns, camping in the mountains. Rex was a charismatic, brilliant man who, when sober, captured his children's imagination. Rose Mary painted and wrote and couldn't stand the responsibility of providing for her family; she called herself an "excitement addict."

What a shame
Revisado: 10-07-24
I found this book profoundly depressing. Realizing we all have different coping mechanisms did not mitigate my discomfort with the narcissistic child abuse described.

Historia
Here for the first time is the definitive untold story of Donald Trump’s years as a reality TV star. Trump himself admits he might not have been president without The Apprentice. Now, just as he uncovered the chaos inside the daytime favorite The View in his bestselling Ladies Who Punch, Ramin Setoodeh chronicles Trump’s dramatic tenure as New York’s ultimate boss in the boardroom, a mirage created by Survivor producer Mark Burnett and NBC boss Jeff Zucker.

Disturbing evidence of former US president's dangerous psychological profile
Revisado: 08-30-24
Every US citizen would benefit from author Ramin Setoodeh's new information and his insights into the former president's inability to detach himself from his role on the failed, scripted "Apprentice" TV series. This profile reveals the subject's utter lack of character & ethics, his extraordinary self-obsession, his cruelty, and his absolute disdain for law & order, facts, reality. How ironic.

Historia
In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and many around him, including certain other elected Republican officials, intentionally breached their oath to the Constitution: they ignored the rulings of dozens of courts, plotted to overturn a lawful election, and provoked a violent attack on our Capitol.

Brava!
Revisado: 01-25-24
God bless Ms. Cheney for this skillful and compelling fleshing-out of difficult truths we all need to internalize and build upon going forward. I may not always agree with Ms. Cheney on policy or philosophy of government, but her work on saving our country makes that totally irrelevant. Those of us who love America all owe her our unreserved gratitude and respect. Brava!

Historia
"How did you get this number?" Those were the first words Jill Biden spoke to US senator Joe Biden when he called her out of the blue to ask her on a date. Growing up, Jill had wanted two things: a marriage like her parents' - strong, loving, and full of laughter - and a career. An early heartbreak had left her uncertain about love until she met Joe. But as they grew closer, Jill faced difficult questions: How would politics shape her family and professional life? And was she ready to become a mother to Joe's two young sons?

Beautiful!
Revisado: 02-25-21
This book is a treasure to be savored more than once. A story of resilience and strength, joy and hope, family and --most of all--the connecting tissue, love. I highly recommend.
