Historia
Ahren can hardly believe his luck. His apprenticeship finally comes to an end, and Khara's interest in him is growing by the minute. He and his companions leave the Southern Jungles and sail westward, this time in search of two Paladins, who are apparently living a peaceful existence on one of the Isles of the Cutlass Sea. Yet their quest proves full of difficulties, for a war among the pirates has transformed the Cutlass Sea into a bubbling cauldron, hiding its own tragic drama.

Good Quality Installment to the Story with unfortunate audio editing issues
Revisado: 04-01-25
The last 6 hours of audio had editing issues - repeated phrases, stops and restarts, and other hiccups that disrupted the listening experience. The narrator performed excellently, but the post-production needed improvement. The audio quality seemed to recover near the end. Since Audible makes reporting these technical problems challenging, I'm adding my feedback here alongside other reviewers, hoping Audible will both fix this issue and make their reporting process as user-friendly as their Kindle system.

Despite Good Sci-fi Ideas, not my cup of tea
Revisado: 01-29-25
I couldn’t tap into the characters or plot lines of this story. I kept giving it fresh tries, until I got close enough to decide to finish the book. Might be great for some, but it didn’t hook me anywhere.

Addressing the fundamental questions about how to live, Meditations for Mortals offers a powerful new way to take action on what counts: a guiding philosophy of life Oliver Burkeman calls “imperfectionism.” It helps us tackle challenges as they crop up in our daily lives: our finite time, the lure of distraction, the impossibility of doing anything perfectly.

A fair amount of overlap with content released in the Waking Up app, i
t seemed to me, but still worthy of attention and the brief time this audiobook takes to listen to.

Historia
Joe has started to draw attention to himself and his abilities. While some of the attention is good and allows for personal growth, most of it is from various organizations that feel threatened by the sudden upswing of power that Joe's guild - The Wanderers - is attaining. As the threat to Earth begins to reach its peak, all of humanity has a choice: flee to Eternium, or stay for an uncertain future. Some stay, some go, some don't make the choice quickly enough.

The new narrator did a great job but the switch was just too discombobulating for me.

"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

Historia
The war should have been over. But it’s not for a group of nationalists grabbing for control. It’s been two weeks since a missile with a nuclear warhead tore through the planetary defenses in the most blistering large-scale attack ever committed in the history of the Gaia system. Commander Dunstan Park of the Rhodian navy has been handpicked to command an experimental cruiser that could dictate the course of the escalating conflict. All he has to do is keep the ship from falling into the wrong hands.

Narration killed this one
Revisado: 08-18-22
The books in the series are good. The narration changed with each book, and the third is one that I find the most challenging to listen to and enjoy. I can’t recommend this one.

Loads of redundant material
Revisado: 06-27-22
I adore Carlo Rovelli and I’ve listened to most—if not all—of his books in English. This book seemed like it was 70% old material, much of it seemed word for word with Reality Is Not What It Seems, which I finished right before this book was released. For that reason, and that reason alone, I’m scoring this book lower than his others. Usually Carlo gets 5 stars from me.

Historia
William Wordsworth (1770 -1850) is one of the most popular and enduring of the English poets. His poetry is beloved for its deep feeling, its use of ordinary speech, and its celebration of nature and of the beauty and poetry in the commonplace. Together with his friend, the poet and political activist Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Wordsworth helped launch the romantic age in English literature. These poems demonstrate the astonishing range and beauty of Wordsworth’s work and his sustained, coherent vision.

Well read, nice collection, but the audio needs to be fixed. I almost gave up but the whole thing is so short I bore through it. It clips regularly and often.
