Historia
Poe Webb, host of a popular true crime podcast, invites people to anonymously confess crimes they’ve committed to her audience. She can’t guarantee the police won’t come after her “guests,” but her show grants simultaneous anonymity and instant fame—a potent combination that’s proven difficult to resist. After an episode recording, Poe usually erases both criminal and crime from her mind. But when a strange and oddly familiar man appears on her show, Poe is forced to take a second look.

Good, a little long
Revisado: 03-07-25
I got this book based on the summary provided, but the story kind of dragged on and I struggled to finish it. It has potential but had too much fluff to get to the end, which was predictable. Narrators were excellent.

Pretty good but one error
Revisado: 01-17-25
The second half of chapter 37 is repeated again in chapter 38. Not sure if it's an Audible mistake or what. Overall though, still worth the credit. The story was pretty good! and narration was excellent.

Revisado: 09-05-24
This book was pretty good, the characters and story were enjoyable. Looking forward to watching the Netflix series. Hey Audible- if you're reading this, you need to fix the description. it's not the bride-to-be who is found dead the morning of the wedding, it's the maid of honor who is found dead.

They never considered how his wife might react, or that by the end of the summer a man would be dead. But Blakely always got her way, and the others followed her lead—even when they knew it was dead wrong. The girls had been friends from day one at Camp Pendleton, a haven for gifted children. But their senior summer was different. When Mr. Crosby, the handsome tennis coach, wound up murdered after a reckless lie, Blakely, Grace, Meg, and Thera swore themselves to secrecy. And never spoke to each other again.

Ending ruined it, don't bother.
Revisado: 08-14-24
Wow. I was very invested in this story until the ending came and it literally felt like the book was just stopped suddenly 3/4 of the way through. The story was really going along nicely until suddenly it just ended. Made absolutely no sense to me why it just stopped so suddenly. I had to double check and make sure I hadn't accidentally hit my phone and fast forwarded anything. Book probably would have gotten 5 stars if it had ended properly. Authors - please stop doing this. We hate it. It ruined the book for me and I can't wait to get my credit back. Just wow.

It's the end of a night out and Joanna is walking home alone. Then she hears the sound every woman dreads: footsteps behind her, getting faster. She's sure it's him—the man from the bar who wouldn't leave her alone. So Joanna makes a snap decision. She turns, she pushes. Her pursuer tumbles down the steps and lies motionless, facedown on the ground. Now what?

Had potential
Revisado: 07-12-24
The story has potential and was good in the beginning but it just drags on and on until you can't wait for it to be finished. The main character has a very irritable quality about her, I can't quite put my finger on it. She was whiney and immature, but then again the other characters were also insufferable (except for her brother) and she had no support around her at all. She was truly alone which made her easy to relate to and easy to sympathize with, but for some reason I just did not like her. I hated her husband, maybe it's just me, but god he was awful towards her sometimes. Author had a very good idea with the alternating scenarios but the execution was bland.

Historia
Charlotte has everything in life that she ever could have hoped for: a doting, artistic husband, a small-but-thriving flower shop, and her sweet, smart five-year-old daughter, Daisy. Her relationship with her mother might be strained, but the distance between them helps. And her younger brother Rocco may have horrible taste in women, but when he introduces his new girlfriend to Charlotte and her family, they are cautiously optimistic that she could be The One. Daisy seems to love Ruth, and she can’t be any worse than the klepto Rocco brought home the last time.

Pretty good
Revisado: 05-08-24
The story was really good and had potential to be better, but I had no idea she was going back and forth in time until about half way through the book. The time jumps aren't labeled so just keep in mind that some parts are past and some are present. After I figured this out, I had a hard time enjoying and listening to the rest of the book because I was constantly thinking back on what was past and present to put the rest of the story together. Vivienne Leheny is my favorite narrator so she can make anything sound better than it is.

Good story, weird ending
Revisado: 03-20-24
The story was good overall, I even imagined it being an interesting movie, but the ending felt thrown together, as if the author was tired of it and just tossed a 25 minute ending together. I've noticed a lot of books have been this way lately... really a bummer. The narrator was great.

Loved it
Revisado: 03-16-24
I don't understand the negative reviews. This book was excellent. I loved the fresh take on the "whodunnit" genre. Definitely different than other crime thrillers, but kept my interest the whole time. The ending could have been longer, I'd love to know what the main character does next. A sequel would be cool.
