I feel that the story would have been MUCH better had it just been read as written without the interpretive performance. Debbie Macomber is one of my favorite authors and her characters and their relationships are always believable and fun to read and get to know. I have never read one of her books that wasn't enjoyable. Her books are not written as a screenplay so the performance in this case doesn't work, in my opinion. The only character that was NOT annoying in this performance was Annie. The "voice" of Millie made her sound sound like an irritable "old grandma" that swats her grandkids with her cane when they walk by, but her character is only in her early 30's. It doesn't work. And the performance of Keaton gave "Slingblade" vibes, an intellectually challenged man with a dangerous temper. He and Millie both come across (at least in the performance) like they are both volatile and potentially insane and should probably institutionalized. It is just a very weird dynamic when listening to the performance. I feel like the essence of the characters was completely missed on this one.

The performance is perfectly matched to the story. The story flows easily and keeps you engaged. Ms. Auls writing is fantastic. The characters are all written with such care for detail. I highly recommend.

This is very easy to listen to and uses everyday sentences and phrases. The PDF that comes with the book is very useful. I love it.

Christina Applegate nails it, the hilarious snarky attitude in the story telling. This story is so relatable because everybody has had this experience on some level at some point in their life. I could not stop listening, laughing and giggling at the visuals being portrayed. Hilarious!!!

Fascinating!!! Great story and also a great tool to use as Bible study because it has so many bible references. Book is narrated by the author which also makes it interesting because he reads it with the tone that he intended when writing the story. The story is told in the form of a conversation between two people which was makes it feel more relatable. The book is packed with symbolic details (historic events, trees, churches, speaches, and all with Bible references) of 9/11 that are just fascinating.
I highly recommend this book!!!

Strong language but befitting for the storyline I think. As a mother of an addict; this was a difficult story to read but helpful in beginning to understand the mindset of an addict.
I couldn't put this book down, it was captivating.
The story flows beautifully and ends with a feeling of grace and hope. It's a story that needs to be shared not only to addicts for incouragement but also to family of addicts who struggle to understand. I couldn't put it down.
I'm glad that Tiffany read the book herself because it made it feel like I was sitting in a room and chatting with her. I was captivated by her story.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!

Ps. Great job Tiffany! I'm so very proud of you! Your book gives me hope for my own child's recovery. Thank you for sharing your story. ❤️

True to form Debbie Macomber did NOT disappoint! I have been a long time fan of her books because her characters are always real and the emotions are true.
This is a story of life long friends and their struggles to raise their families and each one finding love in unexpected places and times in their life. It's a story of friendship and family and the support that we draw from those relationships.
One of my favorite things about this author is that the story lines always focus on the relationships of friends well before love enters the story. And that is how it should be. A wonderful read for women my age (52) and for young women and girls. The characters are all wonderful role models.
Tavia Gilbert, Erin Bennett, Karissa Vacker, and Debbie Macomber did a fantastic job of narrating and reading the story. I loved the changing voices between the characters. Great job ladies!
I definitely recommend this book!
