Narrator almost made me stop at chapter 2.

I love everything I’ve read from Jana DeLeon and I did enjoy Rumble on the Bayou. While the narrator had the southern accent and dialect down, her narrative voice was off putting for me. It took patience to get to the point of tolerating her voice so that I could complete the book.
In all fairness to Johanna Parker’s talent, she did an excellent job with the exception of the sticky sweet narrative voice. I think if she switched her “narrator” voice with the “Dorie” one, it would have been better.

A must read for victims of PTCS!

I’ve been on my own journey for truth which is what led me to read the reviews for this book. Being from Louisiana and often hearing “... that accent!”, I wasn’t bothered by those reviewers who had problems with the “valley girl” reader; however, it was a bit distracting.
But!! This is s great book and I encourage anyone who is searching for their own truth to listen/read this one. I plan to buy one for each of my 3 daughters and we’re going to form our own book club starting with this one!

Excellent narration but needs to research the southern pronunciation of names

I absolutely love this series! But being from the south, it’s like hearing fingernails on a blackboard to hear the common Southern names miss pronounced. Oh, i won’t stop listening but it would be so rewarding if Hebert would be pronounced “A bear” and Dugas “do gah”!❤️

I love the Miss Fortune series

This series is so fun and I am enjoying them immensely. I like Cassandra Campbell’s narrating. But being a Louisiana native, the mis-pronunciation of Hebert distracted me. She expertly pronounced Fontenot but missed Hebert. The southern pronunciation is “A-bear”
I still rated it a 5 because overall her performance was excellent.

I’m a senior southern lady

I ordered this book strictly because of the title- Louisiana is my home. What a pleasant surprise! The story line was interesting, funny and captivating; i was almost sad to come to the end!
The narrator was exceptional in capturing the Louisiana charm.
I’ll be waiting for a sequel 🤞

J.R. Ward is one of my absolute favorites and I've recently become an avid fan of narrator, Eric G Dove so I eagerly started this series. Other than too many "battles" for my taste, it was great!

Tessa Dawn and Eric G. Dove have become a favorite

This the second book by Tessa Dawn, narrated by Eric G. Dove that I've listened to and I'm racing through this review to purchase my next one. I absolutely love that after one part of the storyline comes to conclusion, there is still more to come. she ties it all together so that we have insight of how their lives go forward!
