Historia
Experience the blazing, surreal sensation of a fever dream...A young woman named Amanda lies dying in a rural hospital clinic. A boy named David sits beside her. She’s not his mother. He's not her child. Together, they tell a haunting story of broken souls, toxins, and the power and desperation of family. Fever Dream is a nightmare come to life, a ghost story for the real world, a love story and a cautionary tale.

necessary, but...
Revisado: 12-23-24
This is commonly described as "horror" or "psychological thriller" with some supernatural element. It's not scary at all, except for the fact that it's mostly true. It's a social commentary.
On one hand, the author deserves credit for increasing awareness of this issue. On the other hand, the story is quite boring. If someone cares about the environment enough to listen to this audiobook, then it's like preaching to thr choir. It's definitely a creative way to address an important issue.
The narrator has quite a range. She effectively brings to life a number of different characters. However, her voice is a little on the unpreasant side - kind of tough to listen to for extended periods. I listen while I drive, so I was able to break up listening session a bit.
My recommendation would be to find ways to support this author and her cause. I may recommend finding some way different from listening to this audiobook.

Radio show
Revisado: 06-21-22
This is not a reading of the book; rather, it is Bradbury's own conversion to a radio show. It is performed by a group of different voices and musicians. It is very enjoyable to listen to. I listened to it in the middle of June, but it would be so much more enjoyable for October evenings; I may revisit this audiobook this fall! The kids' voices are kind of annoying, but the rest of the story is engrossing and exciting. Of course, there are some differences between this and the Disney movie; both are great to experience.
