I liked the fact that the author pointed out everyone has a secret they are not telling and you never know what goes on behind closed doors.

Historia

The main one being where she and her five-year old daughter, Skye, are going to live. A chance meeting with the charismatic Dr Marsden changes all that. He offers the young mother the most amazing opportunity: an apartment at one of London’s most exclusive addresses for a fraction of the market rental cost. It’s an offer Freya simply can’t refuse.

Not Slater’s best
Revisado: 01-04-20
I started reading THE APARTMENT with the hope of having something so exciting I couldn’t put it down. I found it to be predictable from the very first chapter. Frey moves into the apartment with her young daughter Skye and both are excited about the move, UNTILL things start happening that give Frey an uncomfortable feeling. As the book goes on Frey struggles with strange noises and qhappenings. . Most of all she notices how weird the other residents of Manner House are and questions how much they are involved with all the things going on in her apartment.
This book has a nice story and is a fast read but if your looking for something that will put you on the edge of your seat this is not It. It is a nice story and would br great to take on a plane or road trip, but if you want a heart pounding mystery this book is not going to do it for you.

Historia
The film Rabbit-Proof Fence is based on this true account of Doris Pilkington's mother Molly, who as a young girl led her two sisters on an extraordinary 1,600 kilometer walk home. Under Western Australia's invidious removal policy of the 1930s, the girls were taken from their Aboriginal families at Jigalong on the edge of the Little Sandy Desert, and transported halfway across the state to the Native Settlement at Moore River, north of Perth. Here Aboriginal children were instructed in the ways of white society and forbidden to speak their native tongue.

What children will do to go home
Revisado: 03-23-16
What made the experience of listening to Follow the Rabbit-Proof Fence the most enjoyable?
This was a very interesting story . I liked reading how the kids took care of each other and did what was necessary in order to get back to their parents.
Any additional comments?
I didn't like the ending .....I was hoping for something a little more dramatic.

Historia
Forensic psychiatrist Kate Myers believes the killer of two teenage girls in Bigler County, California, is the same man who savagely murdered her twin sister over fifteen years ago. He wants to believe her wild theory, but the idea of a serial killer with this pathology is bizarre. Love and mystery in a simple setting....
Revisado: 06-06-15
This book is very fast reading. If you are looking for a simple romance with a little mystery this is what you want.
I was hoping for more and was bored half way through. It would be good book to read on a short flight somewhere.

Fannie's New Orleans house is like no place Ibby has ever been - and Fannie, who has a tendency to end up in the local asylum - is like no one she has ever met. Fortunately, Fannie's black cook, Queenie, and her smart-mouthed daughter, Dollbaby, take it upon themselves to initiate Ibby into the ways of the South both its grand traditions and its darkest secrets.

Historia
Born in 1894, Facey lived the rough frontier life of a sheep farmer, survived the gore of Gallipoli, raised a family through the Depression and spent 60 years with his beloved wife, Evelyn. Despite enduring hardships we can barely imagine today, Facey always saw his life as a "fortunate" one. A true classic of Australian literature, his simply written autobiography is an inspiration. It is the story of a life lived to the full - the extraordinary journey of an ordinary man.

Revisado: 01-29-13
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
It was ok.....it kept me going because of the many different jobs and people this young man met during his life.
If you’ve listened to books by A. B. Facey before, how does this one compare?
