Historia
On July 23, 2011, Amy Winehouse's family, friends, and fans around the world mourned the tragedy that this remarkable, talented, and extraordinarily generous young woman was now gone. A legion of dedicated fans had lost their idol; a devastated family had lost their Amy. With this difficult news came an outpouring of love and grief from her fans, along with troubling questions about Amy's very public struggles with drugs and alcohol, as people tried to understand how a soulful singer had been silenced so young.

Drugs…not music
Revisado: 07-17-24
I thought I was going to listen about Amy’s music career. Unfortunately it’s mostly about drugs. Very frustrating to listen to, but that is her story, sadly.

Historia
Shout It Out Loud is a serious examination of the circumstance and serendipity that fused the creation of the band's seminal work, Destroyer - including the band's arduous ascent to the unexpected smash hit Alive!, the ensuing lawsuits between its management and its label, the pursuit of the hot, young producer, a grueling musical "boot camp", the wildly creative studio abandon, the origins behind an iconic cover, the era's most outlandish tour, and the unlikely string of hit singles.

Kiss fans only
Revisado: 05-03-23
Too many adjectives and an over reach of big words. The reciting of all of the song lyrics was too much…it’s not Shakespeare. I almost quit listening after the first couple of chapters. Couldn’t stomach the adjectives. But I’m glad I didn’t give up on it. Good story for a real KISS fan. Some interesting facts and insight to the recording of Destroyer.

Will he run in 2024? You bet he will. Will he be the GOP nominee? Absolutely. Will he win the election? Yes.The stakes of the next elections could not be higher. The Democrats won the election of 2020—sort of—and the disastrous consequences are already upon us. As he did in his 2016 New York Times best seller, Armageddon: How Trump Can Beat Hillary, renowned campaign strategist Dick Morris provides the road map for taking back the White House and the nation in this new book, The Return.

Buy the book instead.
Revisado: 10-26-22
Why on Earth would anyone allow Dick Morris to read this book? The subject is interesting and was informative, but trying to listen to Mr Morris is awful. The producers of this book should NEVER be allowed to produce an audible book again. I would have shut it down after the first page and hired another reader. They turned a nice book into an absolute struggle to comprehend. Buy the written copy instead.

This is a complete, no opinionated, fantastic account of the entire Watergate affair. The story is put together well and the reader was one of the best I have experienced.

Historia
When Hugh Hefner quit his job at Esquire to start a magazine called Playboy, he didn't just want to make money, he wanted to make dreams come true. In this wise and penetrating biography, intellectual historian Steven Watts looks at what Hugh Hefner went on to become and how he took America with him. Hefner became one of the most hated and envied celebrities in America, standing just barely on the wrong side of decency - with as many as seven million subscribers to his magazine.

Too much fluff, not enough substance. This author made Hugh Hefner's life story into a snoozer.

Revisado: 11-21-17
This book is wonderfully performed! The reader really adds to the excitement and stress and many other emotions that are associated with this book. This is my third book on Jonestown and each one adds another perspective. THIS IS A FANTASTIC BOOK! Anyone who has read other books on Jonestown needs to read this one from someone who was on the inside.

Best book I've listened to!
Revisado: 09-19-17
This is a fantastic detailed story. Also has the author's firsthand experience too, which is absolutely riveting and fascinating. The reader's performance could not have been better. I couldn't wait to get in my car every day to listen. This is history that needs to be taught.
