volunteer review
Revisado: 06-16-22
This story starts off so slow, that I fell asleep at least five times trying to get through the first four chapters. Its a story about a 13 year old boy named Will who was kidnapped along with his twin sister when they were toddlers but after 10 years only he comes back, so the story starts off with a race to find and bring home his sister from a parallel universe, before the bad guys get to them. The journey that awaits Will is something he didn't quite expect. Echoland is nothing like our realm, with the only similarities being that the people there look like us because they are our echoes. Will must face monsters, puzzles, deception and himself in order to bring home his sister, and himself.
There is magical elements throughout the story as well as death and deception. The hidden messages from the story is, Trust, friendship, loyalty, sacrifice and acceptance. There are magical creatures and magic use, mystical beings that in reality would be a terrifying sight. But I think that one of the most positive aspect from this story is the friendships that formed along Will's journey, and the self confidence that blossomed in Will.
I personally thought that some of the elements of the book were dry and at sometimes pointless to the story. Sometimes it felt like the chapters started out making no sense as to how the characters ended up where they were. The story seemed to me, hollow in some places and then so jam packed that its hard to make sense of what is going on. I was personally confused a few times when the next chapter started that I had to go back to the previous chapter to make sure I didn't miss something, which I never did. The book felt rushed and incomplete to me. The over use of the word lucent, is heard minimum of twenty times. the author was either unwilling or incapable of using another description word.
I give Crystilleries of Echoland by Dew Pellucid. 3 out of 5 stars because of the inability to keep me held captive, which caused me to fall asleep multiple times throughout the book especially in the beginning. As well as The lack of explanation that left me lost and confused throughout the story. At the end of a particular fight they started walking away while dragging someone away, then the chapter ended and the next chapter started out with Will waking up in his room with absolutely no explanation as to how anyone was healed or what happened to the man that should have been dead from multiple stab wounds with one of those stab wounds being in the throat. The story just seemed rushed, like the author wanted it to be a certain length and refused to let it become the length the story truly needed to be.
I recommend that the story should have the target audience be of young teens or older with a disclaimer of violence and death. The story seems lacking in some ways that I feel that young teens would be oblivious to and would quite enjoy the whimsical world of Echoland.

I'm in the middle of the reviews
Revisado: 04-25-22
I didn't hate it but neither did I love it, some of the dialogue is eye roll inducing but the concept is great. don't really understand the whole cowboy aspect of it considering done of them were cowboys on earth, they were soldiers, and are law enforcement on mars. they do ride robot horses though, so there is that lol.
some of the narrator's we're good except in the second book, I couldn't take the male seriously when the female read, she made him sound mentally challenged..
some of the audio is messed up in the last book but after the mess up it restarts where it went wonky and played out normally so you don't actually end up missing that conversation.

Historia
Once upon a time, there was a girl who dressed up and went to a big party at the palace. When she was there, she met a prince. They danced and fell in love. Damn good line. Too bad I don’t believe a word of it anymore. My name is Claire Montgomery, and I’m not a princess. I’m a fighter. I worked hard to earn my place on the emergency image repair team for one of the biggest public relations companies in the country. We’ve been called to the renowned Chicago headquarters of Stone Global Corporation, where it’s our job to clean up a heap of the Stone family’s filthiest laundry.

I couldn't even get through the first chapter. I can't take this book seriously when the narrator is talking like she's trying to sound younger, or reading to a toddler. She sounds ridiculous.

the only good thing about this book is the narrator, his voice is the only reason I've listened as long as I did. I'm 20 chapters in and I can't take this story any longer.

omg👎
Revisado: 12-08-21
not only is the story cheesy, the characters are absolutely ridiculously childish.
The narrator reads like she's reading to herself, doesn't change voices, and I don't think she once use the correct emotion or tone in any situation.. if there was a good narrator I don't think these books would have been so bad..

ok I have some problems with this book
Revisado: 11-15-21
the story itself is good like the previous book, my problem is with the few details the author messed up on. all rain had to do is just look back at previous books notes and could have gotten the facts right.. for one, in the previous book her ghost BF is 20 not 19 and in book 1 she told her partner about seeing ghosts and in this book they acted like she never told her. she even made a point to tell her the same exact thing about the Mexican spitfire thing.. but the forgotten previous details are the only problem I have with this book.. good reading
