When I find a gorgeous stranger in an alley, covered in blood, you'd think the logical thing would be to go to the authorities. Not me. I take him home. I've got my reasons, though. See, Kassam is cursed with hedonism. He's a god from another world, accidentally stuck in ours. Anyone (and everyone) around him falls under his spell. It's impossible to resist. Like scratching an itch. And being around Kassam? Boy, do I itch. But trying to send the god home to his world is a near-impossible task.

I absolutely LOVED this book!
Revisado: 09-06-24
I have loved all the books in this series thus far, but this one in particular was EXTRA SPECIAL to me.
I loved the God ( the aspect) I loved the relationship between the anchor and the god.
I thought it was incredibly funny & definitely the absolute Sexiest of this series, and it was also remarkably touching and heartwarming.
I devoured this book in less then two days.
And I love how this narrator narrates the male characters, I found the god sexy as hell and I enjoyed her as a narrator period.
I would absolutely recommend this book & this particular series by Ruby Dixon to anyone who enjoys comedy, spice, fantasy, adventure, and a well told relationship story.

Moved to tears countless times
Revisado: 05-12-24
I’m in a particular phase of my life right now where I don’t know if the traditional mold of relationships fits with my personality anymore.
I’ve been in a long term monogamous ( not married, but we live together) relationship for 11yrs.
I however am 44 and not starting off as this author did, in her 20’s, but I don’t know what would be best suited for my partner and I.
This book was incredibly informative, inspiring, interesting, and my heart broke with her on her journey of discovery and growth during her relationship with “ Adam”. I have not been in officially open relationships, but I have ABSOLUTELY been Gaslighted before & as it was unfolding on the page my heart squeezed in anxiety and anger.
I identified tremendous with Rachel ( especially the younger me in my 20’s and exploring relationships)
This book managed to be be filled with so much information in regards to ALL the different types of ways of being in relationships these days, as well as so much inclusivity in queer and all related subjects ways of being in relationship ( if there was something to note that was different)
Also factoring race and culture in , this book was very politically correct and sensitive, without feeling righteous or preachy.
It felt raw, authentic, it felt like a woman sharing her story, her feelings, even when they might not be deemed socially acceptable by the general standard of normative ways of being.
But I devoured it and I am beyond grateful for this author and her words and honesty.
I would absolutely recommend reading this.
It’s at once a beautiful story of a young woman growing and learning, discovering who she is and what she’s really made of, a love story, and sexual exploration journey, and also a wealth of information about a ton of topics that are truly fascinating to learn about.

Whit Lancaster burst into my life like a storm. Dark and thunderous, furious and fierce. Cold, heartless, and devastatingly beautiful, like the statues in our prep school gardens. The school with his family name on the sign. He can do no wrong here. This is his domain. He’s a menace on campus. Adored and feared. Hated and respected. His taunting words carve into my skin, shredding me to ribbons. Yet his intense gaze scorches my blood, fills me with a longing I don’t understand.

I enjoyed the overall plot
Revisado: 03-16-24
I have really come to enjoy a select few male narrators, and Aiden is definitely at the top of that list.
I RARELY write reviews ( especially in comparison to the amount of books I consume weekly), and when I do write a review I even more rarely focus on the narrator.
I ,however , in this particular case had a hard time with the female narrator. Oddly enough, mostly when she was in conversation with other characters in the book, her inner dialogue voice didn’t seem quite as whiny.
She also sounded a bit like she had a dry mouth the whole time.
The story narrative is juvenile and I kept reminding myself of how young they were, I guess because of the level of Sex going on I kept forgetting they were so young.
Usually when kids are under the age of 18 it’s a YA book and it’s nowhere near as spicy ( I have no complaints about the spice) but it threw me off because I’m just not used to the story being told from such young people.
I got up to where I had only 2hrs left of the book and I couldn’t take 1 more min of Summer and her personality any more.
I skipped ahead to the last chapter and listened to how it ended and I felt very satisfied and I didn’t feel like I missed out by skipping those last 2hrs. Maybe it’s how she was narrated, maybe it was just her personality, but by that point in the book I was ready to stab her in the face 🙄
Overall I enjoyed most of the book and the general storyline, so many of the twists I saw coming, but I still enjoyed them and the drama they added to the story.
If you like a lot of sex, and a bully rich kid romance ( if anyone considers this romantic 🤔)
Then definitely listen 🎧

Surprised!
Revisado: 03-01-24
I am really quite surprised by this book and how it affected me.
I had seen the book a billion times as it was continually recommended to me through audible, but I just kept passing it by.
Then yesterday I FINALLY decided to go ahead and give it a try.
The premise sounded somewhat intriguing 🤨, I figured it could either be fun and interesting, or totally cheesy garbage.
I don’t usually read Contemporary Romance, I’m definitely more fantasy oriented, and I honestly prefer my smut to be smut and my novels to be well written and engaging ( if they happen to have some great sex scenes in them I won’t complain) but overall I’m not drawn to books where it appears that the main focus will be romance.
This book hinted at some mysterious things, some intriguing and even taboo relationship dynamics.
I enjoy a nice bit of dark psychology and a little bit of mystery and intrigue when I’m leaving my usual book choices.
What really caught me off guard with this story was that I actually got emotional and wrapped up in all of the characters.
I was in LOVE with ALL of them.
I listened to the entire book in less than two days.
I truly did not expect to feel so much investment in these characters.
I laughed, I got angry, I felt anxious, I was swept off my feet and wooed by each man, I was seduced, I was heartbroken, I felt it All.
And the SEX was WONDERFUL!!!
Plenty of really great sex with a truly well thought out build up of the characters and the tensions and dynamics between all of them before anything actually happens.
Plus every other second there wasn’t a sex scene, but there still remained Plenty of sex and sensual vibes to make it very delicious 🤤
I would absolutely recommend this book to those who enjoy a good read with characters that pull you in and show you parts of yourself and life.
Plus if you like a little taboo-ish sexy book, then go on ahead and have a listen to this book here 🥰😍😘

BLOWN AWAY!!
Revisado: 01-16-24
I just discovered this author a few days ago.
I listened to the “ A Crown of Ivy and Glass “ book ( a 1st in a new unfinished series), I started with that book because I read the reviews for it and I could see how the authors loyal readers were having a hard time adjusting to a new narrator and new characters ( which can happen when we as readers have already formed strong relationships with characters in other books that the author has written, it’s natural to compare them and feel like they aren’t who they should be 😋)
I utterly LOVED that book, which lead me to believe this author is a great writer and that I wanted to dive headlong into her other series.
I literally finished Fury Born in two days!!
I stayed up nearly all night last night completely inthralled by these characters and this remarkable story unfolding in my mind.
I predominantly read Fantasy novels & I have read hundreds upon hundreds of different fantasy/ fairytale stories and every combination I can find that interests me , and this is definitely in my top ten, possibly depending on the rest of the series, top five , books in this category that I’ve read.
I’ve seen other people say it’s slow or boring, I cannot even comprehend how this book could be considered either of these things.
I was completely engaged, engrossed, and swept up the entire time.
I read the ENTIRE Wheel of Time series, and that is as far as memory serves, 14 or 15 books long and there’s some SERIOUS LAG in those books.
This book was written beautifully.
There was a tiny adjustment period where I was making sure I was fully following the back and forth of the time lines, but once I discovered the flow it was effortlessly to keep up.
It is a book that you do need to Pay Attention to the Details, it’s not a drift off and you can still follow along kind of story.
I would agree with others that this is more of an Adult-ish read, I would say because it is more character driven, more plot and world building, foundation lying than fast paced romantic crap that so many fantasy novels have devolved into these days.
I thought the level of sex and sexual tension was excellent, this author has a taste for very descriptive details of the grotesque.
She loves her monsters and her gross descriptions of them 😂
I noticed that in the first book that I read of hers as well.
Now I’m off to start the next book in the series ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Revisado: 01-15-24
I devoured this story in two days.
I’m a huge fan of fantasy books and this book is a lovely and unique read.
I truly enjoyed the characters, the storyline, I love this narrator, I’m very familiar with her work and always enjoy her narration.
I’m a little in love with the Main Male character, I was very taken with how he was portrayed.
I don’t usually enjoy things involving political issues, but it was really interesting and done in a way that felt different and had a narrative that I felt was inspirational.
It has a great underlying message that I really enjoyed and I’ve been finding in a few other fantasy novels that I really really appreciate in these times.
Beautiful well written and creative.
I got utterly swept away.
I would whole heartedly recommend this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of my all time favorites
Revisado: 11-21-23
This is only the author’s second book ever published and her first book “ An Enchantment of Ravens “ blew my mind for a 1st time book & fairytale.
A Sorcery of Thorns just touches my heart.
I adore the characters, the concept, the connections, the sweet romance, the lead fella and his family history and his relationship with his demon.
Another reviewer mentioned places where there could have been more back story and world building, and this is a solid point, but I never really missed anything about background , history, or needing a bigger more showy ending.
It’s a comfort book for me personally, I’ve now listened to it , I believe 3 maybe 4 times and I’m still in Love.
There is truly something really unique and special about this author and how she creates characters.
For me it hits the spot on so many levels.
You can’t and won’t please everyone as a writer/or with any craft, reviews are totally subjective, how people experience a book is so personal and unique to that individual.
For me this book is MAGICAL and one of my happiness places to visit.

Creativity that’s out of this world
Revisado: 07-18-23
Such a beautiful and touching story, it definitely held the spirit of old time fairytales.
I adore this Author & I’m truly blown away by her versatility in her writing of fantasy.
This book is a million light years different from Paper Magicians, but just as brilliant and mesmerizing.
The creative thought that went into this novel is something to marvel over.
I only recently discovered this author and already I’ve devoured her books as fast as I can get my hands on them.
This story and the Will and the Wilds, have been my favorite so far. I’m a Big fan of mythology, magic, and fairytales & I feel these books most reflect that.
Next up I’ll be checking out Smoke And Summons.
