Historia
Few people noticed the secret codewords used by our astronauts to describe the moon. Until now, few knew about the strange moving lights they reported. George H. Leonard, former NASA scientist, fought through the official veil of secrecy and studied thousands of NASA photographs, spoke candidly with dozens of NASA officials, and listened to hours and hours of astronauts' tapes.

Absolute nonsense
Revisado: 04-27-23
Don’t waste your time. Just a jumble of pseudoscientific nonsense presented as some sort of research.

Historia
When Norm Macdonald, one of the greatest stand-up comics of all time, was approached to write a celebrity memoir, he flatly refused, calling the genre “one step below instruction manuals.” Norm then promptly took a two-year hiatus from stand-up comedy to live on a farm in northern Canada. When he emerged he had under his arm a manuscript, a genre-smashing book about comedy, tragedy, love, loss, war, and redemption. When asked if this was the celebrity memoir, Norm replied, “Call it anything you damn like.”

Funny and sad as only Norm could be.
Revisado: 12-27-22
Loosely based on things that most likely never happened, this incisive autobiography by wise guy Norm Macdonald provides a hard-hitting look at the world of Norm Macdonald.

Historia
Bellona is a city at the dead center of the United States. Something has happened there...the population has fled. Madmen and criminals wander the streets. Strange portents appear in the cloud-covered sky. And into this disaster zone comes a young man - a poet, a lover, and an adventurer - known only as the Kid.

What a ride!
Revisado: 05-22-22
Gritty, surreal, poetic imagery that teases with questions that are never quite answered, a kaleidoscopic epic of a narrative as seen from the eyes of a schizophrenic amnesiac.

Re-reading
Revisado: 05-06-22
I first read this in the 60s in elementary school and it was one of my favorites. Reading it again as an adult I was stricken with the blatant racism and misogyny. I guess it has to be taken as “a product of the times” but from my current perspective it was cringe-worthy.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Badly written at a third grade level. No real narrative or character development. Sounds like a pulp fiction detective story.

Stories may be good but the reader’s voice is so grating I couldn’t finish it.
