Historia
Since its rise to the highest ranks of power in Renaissance Europe, the Borgia family has developed a scandalous reputation. While they were indeed ostentatious, calculating, worldly, cruel - and even, occasionally, murderous - you may be surprised to find that the Borgias were not terribly different from other powerful and ambitious families of their day. So why has history set them apart as one of the most corrupt and reviled families in history?

Fantastic lecture on the Borgia!
Revisado: 07-22-21
If your interested in learning the actual facts of the Borgia without the bias and unproven rumors, this is for you! William Landon did a great job in clearly explaing everything with proof and evidence, on how the rumors started with the Borgia, when their rise to infamy & power started and how it all ended.
Knowing only the embellished story's of the Family, I was gladly surprised in how much false information I knew and presumed was true. It's amusing on how history and rumors of their past are assumed to be truth but mostly rumors or embellishments but with reasoning. I highly recommend this lecture to anyone who is interested in history or the Renaissance.

Historia
The Cadian Gate is broken, and the Imperium is riven in two. The might of the Traitor Legions, kept shackled for millennia behind walls of iron and sorcery, has been unleashed on a darkening galaxy. Among those seeking vengeance on the Corpse Emperor’s faltering realm are the Death Guard, once proud crusaders of the Legiones Astartes, now debased creatures of terror and contagion.

Interesting concept - average story
Revisado: 07-19-21
If you're a deathguard fan I would recommend this book. The lore is interesting, the descriptions of the characters are grotesque but fascinating and you get a real understanding of their mindset.
Story-wise it's all right, some parts more interesting than others and sometimes it can be lacking. John Banks narrating this book helped with the story and made it a little bit more interesting. Overall it's an all right standalone book but not something you need to read straight away.

Historia
In the early 20th century, World War I was the most devastating event humanity had yet experienced. New machines of war left tens of millions killed or wounded in the most grotesque of ways. The Great War remade the world's map, created new global powers, and brought forth some of the biggest problems still facing us today. But it also birthed a new art form: the horror film, made from the fears of a generation ruined by war. From Nosferatu to Frankenstein's monster and the Wolf Man, the touchstones of horror can all trace their roots to the bloodshed of the First World War.

Historia
Through his own writings and inspiration of Aristotle and countless others, Plato continues to influence every area of philosophic thought, to say nothing of his enormous influence on Christian theology. His dramatic dialogues, including Republic, the monumental treatise on the ideal state, render him one of the greatest of Greek literary geniuses. In this concise analysis, eminent Plato scholar A. E. Taylor examines the philosopher's theory of knowledge and doctrine of ideas; the ideal of the philosopher-king; the social system advocated in Republic; judgments on democracy; and belief in the immortality of the soul. Also considered: Plato's relationship with his master, Socrates; contribution to the idea of university education; attack on art; abstention from public life; anticipation of Copernicus. Taylor also mentions historical misunderstandings of the one he deems the most original and influential of all philosophers.

Plato's mindset without the mythos
Revisado: 07-17-21
If you're interested in knowing Plato's philosophy & who he was in his earlier years without the mythos/legends then this is the right book for you. The audio can be sometimes quiet but I don't fault it because of the year of publishing. Having Frederick Davidson narrating this book was a good choice and made it easy to listen too.
Overall a good short book and a nice slice of History of Ancient Greece.

Historia
Before the being called the Emperor revealed himself, before the rise of the aeldari, before the necrontyr traded their flesh for immortal metal, the world was born in violence. Even when they inhabited bodies of flesh, Trazyn the Infinite and Orikan the Diviner were polar opposites. Trazyn, a collector of historical oddities, presides over a gallery full of the most dangerous artefacts - and people - of the galactic past. Orikan, a chronomancer without peer, draws zodiacs that predict and manipulate the future.

Fantastic standalone WH Book!
Revisado: 07-13-21
Being fairly new with Warhammer in general, I was somewhat worried I would not enjoy this book or wouldn't understand everything. I can gladly say this was a fantastic book! Even though I didn't understand everything, I was fully enthralled with all the voice acting, individual characters & minor ones and the humor in this book!
This being my first Warhammer book also, i have to say this was the most enjoyable audiobook I've listened to so far! The only disappointing part of the book without spoiling anything, for me was the ending (seemed forced) but doesn't ruin the book overall. I can highly recommend this book to all Warhammer fans, science fiction fans and people who enjoy humoristic books.
