Historia
Widely hailed as a spiritual classic, this inspirational and unfailingly powerful story reveals the life and visions of the Lakota healer Nicholas Black Elk (1863–1950) and the tragic history of his Sioux people during the epic closing decades of the Old West. In 1930, the aging Black Elk met a kindred spirit, the famed poet, writer, and critic John G. Neihardt (1881–1973) on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.

An absolute MUST READ!
Revisado: 07-06-20
A while back I read Black Elk, that’s another account of this story but told by a white man who plays go between. On a whim I decided to read this one too and that was a brilliant choice. It’s one thing to hear a story from a third party, even a respectful one, it’s quite another to get the story straight from the source. Black Elk’s story is one of courage, triumph, & love of community. If you’ve made it this far, please go ahead and get the book!

Historia
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

Gorgeous!!!
Revisado: 06-14-20
This story is an absolute drop kick to the soul! Besides The Green Mile and Shawshank I do not consider myself a King fan. I read this because a friend told me I needed to, so I did. It’s a story about people and the end of the world and the messes we make along the way. It is absolutely splendid!

Historia
When a former sixties radical is murdered during a string of random sniper attacks, the All Souls Legal Cooperative must settle his surprisingly large estate. Then private investigator Sharon McCone comes across a new will, made just days before he died, that disinherits his two children in favor of four unknown and unconnected parties. McCone sifts through Perry Hilderly’s belongings but finds little to explain this puzzling change. That is, until she uncovers a .357 with the serial number burned off.

I adore this series, every time I re-read it I am shocked again by how well crafted and fun these mysteries are. Trophies and Dead Things absolutely earns its spot in this series!!!
