Historia
Neal Karlen was the only journalist Prince granted in-depth press interviews to for more than a dozen years, from before Purple Rain to when the artist changed his name to an unpronounceable glyph. Karlen interviewed Prince for three Rolling Stone cover stories, wrote “3 Chains o’ Gold”, Prince’s “rock video opera”, as well as the star’s last testament. According to Prince's former fiancée, Susannah Melvoin, Karlen was “the only reporter who made Prince sound like what he really sounded like”.

A must listen for true Prince fans
Revisado: 02-04-23
I loved everything about this Audible. The stories gave me insight into the life of the Purple One like no other book I’d read or listened to. I grew up listening to Prince and admiring all of his talents. It’d take years and many volumes to truly capture the man behind the music but this book catapults us ahead by decades. I learned what he found funny. I learned that he was an avid reader. I learned that he was insecure and that he definitely had fears. He was human and this book shows a side of Prince that I never imagined could exist. Now it’s time to restart and listen from the beginning. I really can’t get enough. If you’re a fan, this is the book/Audible you’ve been waiting for.

This one is pretty bad…
Revisado: 05-09-21
I understand autophagy and am familiar with fasting. I purchased this book thinking I would get some tips for renal health. I had a very difficult time following the narrator. And every time I heard “the people” and “the body “, it made me cringe. Not sure if the content but the narration did not help one bit. There are better books to explain autophagy. I can’t in good conscience recommend this book.

I LOVE this book. It's probably the best thing you can do in 7+ hours!
Revisado: 06-15-17
This book is EVERYTHING. If you cannot relate to at least one of her stories, you're not human. This is a chronicle of a journey of self discovery. As far as I know, Shonda is no psychologist or psychotherapist, but she I just received the cheapest, most effective therapy session I've ever had in my life. Shonda is a rebel, a mentor... I have decided to do a Year of Yes Challenge for myself. Thank you, Shonda. Thank you, Delores.
Don't even think twice about buying this one. If you have ever suffered from issues related to self-esteem, perfectionism, difficulty or inability to set boundaries, wanting to be liked, shame, or felt the need to in any way downplay your intelligence or successes, you need this book in your library! You will find that you have been saying yes to everything EXCEPT yourself and your happiness.

This audible is short, succinct and very useful. The author eats his own dogfood by showing and not telling. He uses TED talks to make his point and I got quite a bit out of the short, yet powerful reading.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

I was prepared to not like this book
Revisado: 05-17-17
I was prepared to not like this book. I could hardly get past the first 5 minutes due to all the f-bombs. I'm glad I kept an open mind. Turned out to contain some advice worth good examples, as well as some really funny parts. Now I find myself constantly asking whether I'm giving a f*ck unnecessarily... and if so, why... as well as taking responsibility for my thoughts, actions and deeds. A good read indeed.

Loved it!
Revisado: 05-12-17
Loved it! I've listened to several of Dr. Brown's books on Audible. Many share content but I hear something new in each book. Every person, in my opinion, needs het books in their personal library.
Narration was excellent. Very different than Dr. Brown, so it lacks a bit of the humor and quips, but excellent still.
