Historia
Spring, 1936. As the boat draws into the harbour of Bird Island, Kitty is absolutely delighted to see the stunning hotel for the first time. She and her friend Alice have been asked to join the distinguished guests before the hotel officially opens its doors, but they have barely unpacked when the owner is found dead in his own study… Sir Norman’s death looks like suicide. But Kitty isn’t convinced–she cannot find a note, and he is left-handed but was shot on the right side of his head. Kitty tries to reach the police, but a violent storm engulfs the island and the power goes out.

Love This Series
Revisado: 04-22-24
I love the books and this series..the stories are captivating and when I finish one I look forward to the next. I am not a snob but I have to say that the graphic sex described in this book took me by surprise. I enjoy the books, The mysteries etc..but honestly I can do without the graphic detail. I honestly thought that somehow my Audible had switched to some other book by accident? These books are a great read and really don't need the in detail descriptions. They definitely take away from a great story. I purchased two this time and hope the next one is just a great story....

Historia
May 1912. After the previous year’s deadly heatwave, it’s been an uneventful spring in Littleton Cotterell. Though for Lady Hardcastle and her fiercely loyal lady’s maid Flo, at least there are the provincial delights of the village’s inaugural art exhibition—and bicycle race—to look forward to. But at the exhibition opening, there’s a panicked shout of ‘Fire!’ In the confusion, the main attraction—an extremely expensive book—is stolen from under everyone’s nose, as is a valuable painting lent by Sir Hector Farley-Stroud.

Not Sure Where To Start
Revisado: 04-09-23
I have watched all of the TV episodes of Midsomer Murders…I love the series!..but this book? There was way too much in depth descriptions of sex scenes..really? So much so that I thought I had become distracted or that somehow my book on audible accidentally got switched with another book…it went on and on and on …and I had to check and see if I was still listening to the same book…I was so determined to give it every chance I listened to the whole thing. I wont be buying the rest. I dont understand..but am so pleased that someone saw something in this series and made it into a quality television series.

Revisado: 08-26-22
I kept listening because I was waiting for it to get better. The book droned on and on with the same thing over and over and over….and lets really mix it up by jumping back and forth between ???? Good Grief is there a reward for how many words in a book? I am sorely disappointed and will make sure I read reviews before I purchase anything more. I honestly do not like to criticize but enough is enough.
