Historia
What happens when the haggling is done and the shops are closed? When the quest has been given, the steeds saddled, and the adventurers are off to their next encounter? They keep the world running, the food cooked, and the horses shoed, yet what adventurer has ever spared a thought or concern for the Non-Player Characters? In the town of Maplebark, four such NPCs settle in for a night of actively ignoring the adventurers drinking in the tavern when things go quickly and fatally awry.

Fantastic story
Revisado: 03-15-23
A group of NPCs on a quest to save their home from a greedy King who employed Adventurers to complete his tasks.
What happens when your group goes rogue and is more focused on looting and raiding than playing the game? You all die.
Unfortunately, the game you're playing is a real world with NPCs living their lives around the Narrative.
Drew Hayes has brought to life the fantasy realms we have all played in and made it real.
It's even given this DM an idea for a new campaign...

Refreshing take on the land of Fairy
Revisado: 03-06-23
I loved it. a trio of Fairytale Misfits, the Bastard Scoundrels, traveling the world of Fairy in search of fairies and witches who torment the people, for the right price, of course.
The twisted tales and background stories of our most beloved fairytales are exposed in a most delightful way.
5 Stars all the way!

Amazing from start to finish
Revisado: 07-02-20
From saving Jews to spying on a Nazi General, Pino Lella takes us through his amazing story one breathtaking moment after another.
I couldn't stop listening.
Be warned though. There are a lot of tear jerking moments in this book, but that's kind of expected from a WWII book.
Grab your tissues and settle in for a wild ride.

Great book for psychology of dogs from breeders
Revisado: 04-16-19
Great insights into the psychology of dogs.
only one of the pups, a lab, was from a rescue, not a breeder.
I love how these experts applaud those who rescue from shelters, but don't ever tell you how to find the right dog for you at a shelter.
If, like me, you've adopted a mutt from the shelter, do yourself a favor and skip to chapter 5.
The 1st 4 were about picking a breeder and knowing the puppy's mom.
No kidding.
Chapter 5 is where the meat of it all begins.

First, the unthinkable: a security breach at a secret US government facility unleashes the monstrous product of a chilling military experiment. An epic and gripping tale of catastrophe and survival, The Passage is the story of Amy - abandoned by her mother at the age of six, pursued and then imprisoned by the shadowy figures behind a government experiment of apocalyptic proportions. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE THE SHOW
Revisado: 04-08-19
How refreshing.
I usually start a show on TV, only to find out there's a book. As a glutton for punishment, I'll read, or listen, to said book, and discontinue watching the show due to frustration and disappointment.
This time, I am pleasantly surprised!
N.O.A.H. is not the main focus of the story here. The characters don't play out like the show's, and the story/time line is WILDLY different.
I can have my cake and eat it too!
On top of that, it's a vampire novel without all the grotesque or 'sparkling' sex scenes. No orgies, teenage love triangles, or girl torn between turning for the love of her life or growing old without him. Just good old fashioned, bloodsucking, nightmares.
I've already downloaded book 2, and am excited to get started on it.
In short, to all my Bibliophiles, this book has a good pace, well developed characters, and a well thought out story.
You won't be disappointed.

Irresistible
Revisado: 01-31-17
I've read the series before, but I love having them read to me. the things I missed were staggering, and now that I have the pleasure of actors giving faces to my brain, it's easier to picture the characters in the story
The reader is phenominal, lots of character voices, which is harder in a book like this one.
I definitely recommend this book series to anyone and everyone

Great book! But where are the others?
Revisado: 06-21-14
A scary concept for many children would be losing their parents to some horrible disease, but what if that disease made them want to eat you?
Charlie Higson captures the way life would be in a world ruled by children while falling apart. The ups and downs in this novel are perfectly placed, and he switches between groups and scenes with well placed cliff hangers.
I definitely recommend this read to any teen who likes a good Zombie/Survival story that isn't riddled with teen romance and vampires.
However, there are several other books in this series that I would love to listen too. Where are they?

Historia
Ann Rule was working on the biggest story of her career, tracking the trail of victims left by a brutal serial killer. Little did this future best-selling author know that the savage slayer she was hunting was the young man she counted among her closest friends. Everyone's picture of a natural winner, Ted Bundy was a bright, charming, and handsome man with a promising future as an attorney. But on January 24, 1989 Bundy was executed for the murders of three young women - and had confessed to taking the lives of at least thirty-five more women from coast to coast.

Terrifying and Shocking
Revisado: 10-21-13
Ann has a way with bringing a story to light. She can lift the victims in a way that makes you feel like they were your neighbors, your friends, your family. But she has a way of making the killers seem that way as well.
A perfect murderer, intelligent and cunning, Bundy swept the nation with his killing spree from Washington to Florida. To this day there isn't an accurate body count, and now that he's gone, there may never be.
As her first official novel, Stranger Beside Me casts an eerie shadow on our beloved author as she narrates her friendship with one of the worst killers of the 20th century.
I couldn't imagine having to admit that one of my best friends was a mass murderer and a psychopath.
This book isn't just about Bundy and his slayings, though they do go into incredible detail, it's also about one woman's struggle to see the devil in the angel she thought she knew.
Her journey was long, exhausting, and disappointing, but she weaves her tale so wonderfully that it seems as if you were right there with her throughout the ordeal.
This book is a MUST READ for ALL Ann Rule fans. Again, as I've said before, it's a must read for all of those who reside in the Pacific North West.

Revisado: 10-21-13
I love this author. His amazing ability to find the humor in every day situations is outstanding.
Writing from personal experience, and over 35 years of journal entries, he weaves many stories in all of his essays and brings you into his world of the odd and interesting.
I would recommend this book for a good laugh, and urge you to hang on through the Stand By (talking about layovers and delays), and the essays written for debating teenagers.
I laughed out loud several times, and have purchased the hard copy to share with my friends.
So if you love a good laugh at every day situations, I would definitely recommend this book!

Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

Thank Goodness for this sequel.....
Revisado: 10-21-13
He's done it again! But this time, he's reunited us with one of our favorite victims, Danny Torrance.
All grown up, it seems Danny is a lot like dear ole' Dad. But does it have to be that way?
Giving him a purpose, and allowing him to help another with the 'Shining' was a wonderful way to bring Danny back.
Though this wasn't 'Balls to the wall' horror, the suspense and the action pick up about half way through. I found myself waiting for more and dreading the pause button. It really is a book for those who love King's twisted horror writing.
I personally think the Shining was a lot more scary, but the idea behind this villain is eerily familiar.
I also enjoy the way King and his son, Joe Hill, play off of each other's novels and create their own little 'other' world.
Pay attention folks, there are references to some of Hill's books in here!
All in all though, it was a great book that kept me on my toes and anxious for more.
