This book should be titled "American Reality".
Revisado: 06-17-24
This book has the worst title in the history of books, and the ugliest book cover in the history of book covers! Not because of Bill's face, just a freaking ugly design that looks like a mentally challenged 10 year old designed it. I am sharing my frustration about it only because I'm a Maher fan and I think this book just made it to my top 10 books of all time.
It's all (the ugly) truth. Non biased. With the right amount of comic relief at the right moments, just like Bill knows, and everything he talks about are based on facts and science. I everyone should read/listen this book. Liberals, conservatives, libertarians, and everyone in between. Young and old. It's a great reality check of how fu@*ed up our beautiful country is.

In How to Think Like a Roman Emperor, psychotherapist Donald Robertson weaves stories of Marcus’s life from the Roman histories together with explanations of Stoicism—its philosophy and its psychology—to enlighten today’s listeners. Terrible audio. ordered the actual book instead.
Revisado: 12-20-22
This could be a great book, I don't know. the audio is the worst I've ever heard. the heavy Irish accent makes my brain work harder just to understand what the reader is saying. and he speaks so monotonously that it should be used to torture people. it sounds like it's on a repeat loop for the same line. just awful! and to make things worse the audio is muffled pretty badly. like the reader is speaking through a blanket. So I've got nothing against the content because I don't know what it is yet so I ordered the hardcover instead of this audio torture device.

So well read and the content is so freaking valuable! I constantly rewinded to re-listen to so much powerful information. As a new coach this is a treasure full of valuable information. Half way through this amazing audio book I ordered the actual book.

Historia
In this revolutionary book, renowned physician Gabor Maté eloquently dissects how in Western countries that pride themselves on their healthcare systems, chronic illness and general ill health are on the rise. Nearly 70 percent of Americans are on at least one prescription drug; more than half take two. In Canada, every fifth person has high blood pressure. In Europe, hypertension is diagnosed in more than 30 percent of the population. And everywhere, adolescent mental illness is on the rise. So what is really “normal” when it comes to health?

Revisado: 11-09-22
I really tried. but a few chapters in my brain was hurting from all the technical, biological, organs, brain, cells and genes instructions manual. It literally felt like I'm in the midst of a medical university without wanting to be. I gave up and returned.

Its directed at women only. nothing new.
Revisado: 04-22-22
This book is intentionally directed at women. you'll hear "you're a strong woman" and about motherhood etc., there is absolutely nothing wrong with that and I am all for the empowerment of women, but it should say that in the cover/ title or in the description. Besides that, there is nothing new or that we haven't heard before.

Lots of good information.... but...
Revisado: 03-05-20
There is lots of good information but my head was about to explode. it's like sitting in front of your CPA and hear her talk for a few hours and you can't talk back, its a one-way conversation with your CPA for 6 hours about your financial options.
It got too boring to bear. which is a shame because the author and narrator is very articulate with a very pleasant voice, but she just reads very monotonous. just like Siri. maybe reading this in a book format is better. wish the author would sound like she enjoys it and been a little lighter and less heavy with all of those financial options. in all honesty it is like listening to SIRI or Alexa read a book for 6 hours.
If you're the type that can listen to financial and technical options you might enjoy this. me personally, I need to hear some personality, a little humor here and there, something human.
That being said, the author did her due diligence. there is tons of good financial information, and you can tell the author put in a whole lot of work and has a whole lot of knowledge about the many options to approach financial security.
I'm still going to keep this audio book, only I can handle listening to a few minutes a week.

Outdated, religious based and to much woo woo.
Revisado: 12-21-19
For me personally, its as outdated as the ideas of gods and the
'power of prayer". too much woo woo for me. "god loves you and wants you to be rich" and talking about the power of prayer is an overload of BS.
