Historia
In 1957, four years before his death, Carl Gustav Jung, psychiatrist and psychologist, began writing his life story. But what started as an exercise in autobiography soon morphed into an altogether more profound undertaking. The result is an absorbing piece of self-analysis: a frank statement of faith, philosophy, and principles from one of the great explorers of the human mind.

More hype than substance.
Revisado: 10-21-22
It's not terrible but you're listening to someone recount their dreams and what they meant to them. Interlaced with these are some ghost stories and premonitions. There are some nuggets here and there but they are buried deep and not that significant. I'd likely recommend something else if you're interested in his philosophy.

Fantastic book on sailing AND relationships
Revisado: 07-16-21
This book is a must read if you are thinking taking up sailing with your significant other. It's almost a relationship and psychology manual! Nick is insightful, compassionate, and authentic.

Great narration
Revisado: 03-21-20
Stephen Fry does an excellent job narrating. The layout is a little confusing and I had an issue the first time I downloaded it with the story jumping around. Redowloading it seemed to fix it.

Historia
Author David Brooks explores the four commitments that define a life of meaning and purpose: to a spouse and family, to a vocation, to a philosophy or faith, and to a community. Our personal fulfillment depends on how well we choose and execute these commitments. Brooks looks at a range of people who have lived joyous, committed lives, and who have embraced the necessity and beauty of dependence. He gathers their wisdom on how to choose a partner, how to pick a vocation, how to live out a philosophy, and how we can begin to integrate our commitments into one overriding purpose.

A good read with solid underlying message.
Revisado: 09-06-19
Listening to this at about 1.5 to 1.6 put the narrator at what I would consider a normal speed.
Powerful stories supporting an underlying theme. I would be surprised if some parts don't move you to tears.
