Historia
Seattle yoga instructor Kate Davidson often acts more like a champion fighting rooster than the Dalai Lama. When she's not teaching yoga, she spends her time hiding from her creepy landlord and dodging her best friend's relentless matchmaking attempts. Even though her father was a cop, Kate has zero crime fighting aspirations. She has enough trouble keeping her struggling yoga business afloat while trying to live up to yoga's Zen-like expectations.

Kate and Bella: A Match Made in Heaven
Revisado: 08-25-16
If you could sum up Murder Strikes a Pose in three words, what would they be?
Funny Sad and Suspensful
What did you like best about this story?
In one word - Bella. No matter what, this was her story and I was rooting for her from the beginning. She had many obstacles to overcome and she did it. Bella deserves every bit of happiness life can give her.
Have you listened to any of Anne James’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I've never had the pleasure before, but this one was certainly enjoyable.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely!! Audio books are a great pleasure to me and this one kept me wanting to move forward all the way to the end.
Any additional comments?
I hope that Tracy's other Bella and Kate mysteries will be done on audio as well. I enjoy being able to let my mind's eye paint pictures of the characters and situations in a book as I am listening to it.

Historia
" The Plague and I" recounts MacDonald's experiences in a Seattle sanitarium, where the author spent almost a year (1938-39) battling tuberculosis. The White Plague was no laughing matter, but MacDonald nonetheless makes a sprightly tale of her brush with something deadly. "Anybody Can Do Anything" is a high-spirited, hilarious celebration of how "the warmth and loyalty and laughter of a big family" brightened their weathering of the Great Depression.

Laughing All The Way
Revisado: 04-20-16
Would you consider the audio edition of The Plague and I to be better than the print version?
Not better, just a different way to read. Plus at this point in time you need to look for a used copy to read the book. I have been on a campaign to get this book on Kindle for several years, but it hasn't happened, yet.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Plague and I?
Betty's first night at The Pines.
Which character – as performed by Heather Henderson – was your favorite?
Betty Bard Macdonald
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Betty got a job offer at the end of the story.
Any additional comments?
For anyone who hasn't connected the dots, Betty Bard MacDonald was the author of The Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle books for children which I have wonderful memories of growing up. She also authored several autobiographical books for adults. She told the story of her family and of her years growing up, of her time raising chickens with her husband and in particular, this book, my favorite, "The Plague and I". This is the story of Betty's time in a tubercular sanatorium in Washington state back in the thirties. At this point in time there were no drugs that could effectively treat TB and it was becoming rampant in this country. In this era, people were many times ordered into sanatoriums in an attempt to get their illness under control and effect a cure as well as to protect the public. Betty went voluntarily and this is the story of her treatment and cure. Lest you think this sounds too depressing for words, let me just say that Betty MacDonald was a top humorist of her time. Before you know it you will find yourself laughing out loud if not rolling on the floor. I have read this book at least a dozen times over many years and it never gets old. I know I will listen to the audio book many more times. Please give this book a listen, you won't regret it!!

Historia
Sir Henry Fortune, celebrity curator, has vanished. So too has his partner in love and money, disreputable art dealer Jason Pringle. Panic spreads throughout the London art world when more people go missing. No one can locate Anastasia Holliday, sensational Abject artist; Jake Thorogood, the critic who catapulted her into stardom; or Dr. Hortense Wilde, notorious for having influenced generations of art students to despise craftsmanship. Hysteria hits the media when it is found that the common link between the victims is that their careers blossomed when they embraced newly fashionable conceptual art.

Yes
Any additional comments?
I am extremely fond of the Robert Amiss/Jack Troutbeck mysteries and my favorite way to experience them is through audio. I have spent many pleasant hours enjoying their exploits in the past through the talent of Bill Wallis, so I was unsure whether I would like Wanda McCaddon's narration as much. I am happy to say that she does a very nice job of Killing The Emperors. I really only have one complaint about the narration. Someone forgot to brief Ms. McCaddon on the proper British pronounciation of Featherstonhaugh (a club featured in both "Killing The Emperors" and an earlier entry in the series "Clubbed To Death") Strangely, it is pronounced Fanshaw. A minor thing to be sure, but it did grate on me. But I digress. I thought "Killing The Emperors" was great fun as well as being very instructive about the world of conceptual art. I would recommend "Killing The Emperors" to anyone who enjoys mysteries with memorable characters and snarky humor.
