If everyone is looking to secure a relationship with their perceived best option, then the perception of value must be at the heart of human coupling. In this groundbreaking work, psychologist Orion Taraban sets forth his economic model of relationships and exposes the often uncomfortable laws that govern the sexual marketplace. Outstanding book, will definitely do again in about 6 months. Very information dense, takes time to digest. and he's exactly spot on, even if I don't agree with everything.

reader does very well, story falters about 3/4 way through
Revisado: 12-17-23
Starts out great. Towards the climax the various teenagers start to fail in love and from then they start to consistently make stupid decisions and the storyline gets... weak. Too bad because the world and setup were great, lots of potential when rewritten. Would make a great TV series.

Fantasy romance novel....

A whole lot of emotional over-reaction and not a lot of plain common sense displayed by the main character. No wonder she struggles all the time.

A bit melodramatic but still a great story line. I enjoyed it. This series would work better shorter, maybe two total books.

The storyline is great, though the book could probably be cut by at least 1/3 if you remove all the distraught commentary like "Whatever it takes!". We get it... all 1,478 times.

Historia
The Perfect Weapon is the startling inside story of how the rise of cyberweapons transformed geopolitics like nothing since the invention of the atomic bomb. Cheap to acquire, easy to deny, and usable for a variety of malicious purposes, cyber is now the weapon of choice for democracies, dictators, and terrorists. Two presidents - Bush and Obama - drew first blood with Operation Olympic Games, which used malicious code to blow up Iran’s nuclear centrifuges, and yet America proved remarkably unprepared when its own weapons were stolen from its arsenal.

Historia
Ancient Egyptian civilization is so grand our minds sometimes have difficulty adjusting to it. It lasted 3,000 years, longer than any other on the planet. Its Great Pyramid of Cheops was the tallest building in the world until well into the 19th century and remains the only Ancient Wonder still standing. And it was the most technologically advanced of the ancient civilizations, with the medical knowledge that made Egyptian physicians the most famous in the world.

Excellent, course. The professor repeats himself about every 20 or so seconds so that becomes irritating pretty quickly. The content is very well organized and presented. Piqued my interest for sure.

Historia
Oliver Sacks' The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat tells the stories of individuals afflicted with fantastic perceptual and intellectual aberrations: patients who have lost their memories and with them the greater part of their pasts; who are no longer able to recognize people and common objects; who are stricken with violent tics and grimaces or who shout involuntary obscenities; whose limbs have become alien; who have been dismissed as retarded yet are gifted with uncanny artistic or mathematical talents.
