A majority of this book is just a man reading French words. No definitions, no using in a sentence, etc. Not sure how we are supposed to learn like this, but there you go.

A Clear, Concise, Explanation of a Great Program

This book is an easy read, and the overwhelming benefits of a Job Guarantee program are a no-brainer.

I highly recommend it for not only those looking to better understand Job Guarantee programs, but for those who remain skeptical about their practicality, effectiveness, and surprisingly, their popularity.

A Total Game Changer

I really don't like cooking, but this book has given me a completely new perspective on cooking (and eating!). It's wonderfully written, and full of so much useful info, I'm going to listen to it a second time. This book has really chaged how I see cooking forever.

An Interesting Account...

I enjoyed hearing Fang Fang’s POV about what the 52 days of quarantine in Wuhan, China were like during the (first) coronavirus / COVID outbreak. I also found the bits about the censorship that she faced interesting. All in all, it was a good read.

Authortarianism 101

This book serves as an excellent introduction to authoritarianism around the world, and it offers a clear explanation of how the Trump administration and the GOP enablers have pushed America in this direction.

The authors also offer suggestions at the end of the book on how to push our government back towards a democracy, and are careful to mention that sweeping race issues under the rug is not the answer.

However, the (male) authors are not as quick to mention that sweeping a woman’s right to choose under the rug is not acceptable either, which leaves me giving them both the side-eye.

A Different Perspective

I liked this book for the different perspective it offered. New York Times Journalist Michael Schmidt gives us a peek into his process of covering the largest presidential scandal this country has every seen. I enjoyed hearing about his process, and also hearing about those who were fighting from the inside (albeit weakly) to save our democracy.

This book also serves as a good reminder that of all the publications that are covering this abominable administration, the NYT still sits atop its game.

Another page turner about Trump

This was a page turner. So many jaw dropping revelations about Trump in here. Cohen knows where the bodies are buried, and he doesn't hold back. Highly recommend.

A Page Turner.. Ultimately Revealing Melania's NPD

If you are picking up this book to make sense of Melania, it will serve its purpose. Spoiler Alert: She's a Narcissit like her husband; completely incapable of empathy. Nonetheless, Stephanie's account of their relationship and its downfall is riveting. Five stars.

An excellent explanation of the infectious disease threats that we face

... not to mention that the author also correctly predicts the current Covid pandemic, right down to the phases the USA would go through.
