Great tips to deal with those suffering BPD in your life
Revisado: 08-16-24
I enjoyed the way it presented what BPD is, how it affects the lives of those with it and those who love them. Best it is full of encouragement and hope. Please get help for yourself especially if your loved one suffers with BPD. For years I’ve been angry and depressed about my first marriage. Then I was faced with the fact that my mother had also been this way. I thought it was normal. I wish I had known. I handled it badly and now almost 30 years after the marriage I have relationships with my adult children to repair.

Historia
Western folklore and mythology are rife with brilliantly creative, fulfilled, feisty, and furious role models for aging women, despite our culture's focus on youthfulness. In her exciting new book, mythologist and psychologist Sharon Blackie explores these archetypes, presenting them in a way sure to appeal to contemporary women. Drawing inspiration from these examples, women can reclaim midlife as a liberating, alchemical moment rich with possibility and their elder years as a path to dynamic power.

Hagitude best attitude
Revisado: 11-13-22
I enjoy Sharon Blackie’s writings. This one is my new favorite as I am going to be turning 59 in 3 months and many of the things she has written about are in my own life.
I love how she combines modern psychology with ancient myths and folktales In weaving a new story of empowerment for women.
The fact that she narrates her book is just icing on the cake!

Historia
Around 6000 BC, a revolution took place on Orkney and the Western Isles of Scotland. An outstanding collection of stone circles, standing stones, round towers, and passage mounds appeared seemingly out of nowhere. And yet many such monuments were not indigenous to Britain, but to regions of the Caspian Sea and the Mediterranean. Their creators were equally mysterious. Traditions tell of the Papae and Peti, "strangers from afar" who were physically different, dressed in white tunics, and lived aside from the regular population.

Excellently researched trip through the past
Revisado: 12-22-21
After having attended Freddy Silva’s book tour for the Missing Lands, I was quite excited to see this book on audio. It was like having Freddy in my living-room reading it to me.
The amount of knowledge he puts into his books is astounding. This no fly by night, quick look at a place, smash some stories together and then regurgitate it sloppily.
So much research, boots on the ground type, no computer only type, has gone into this book. Trips from many places in Scotland, Armenia, Ireland, and Egypt have gone into the making. Even learning foreign and ancient languages had to be done.
The descriptions of the places bring them to my minds eye in vivid detail. It has stoked the simmering fire to travel to Scotland to see where my ancestors came from and to meet people who live there now and hear from them their takes.
Well researched, well narrated, and wonderfully given to us from Freddy Silva!

Loved this book
Revisado: 04-07-21
In depth story, with believable characters. At first I thought it would be cliche but it starts off pulling you into the world Ms Blake creates and definitely nurtures.
Ryan West’s narrative is very engaging. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
